Union Education Minister Pradhan Announces to Establish Incubation Centre at IIM Sambalpur

IIM Sambalpur: In a significant development aimed at fostering innovation and promoting entrepreneurship, the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, made a notable announcement during his visit to IIM Sambalpur. On this occasion, the Minister revealed plans for the establishment of an Incubation Center for Young Entrepreneurs at the esteemed institution. The envisioned incubation centre at IIM Sambalpur is poised to play a pivotal role in nurturing and supporting local young entrepreneurs. With a mission to fuel innovation, create job opportunities, and boost entrepreneurship in the region, this initiative holds the promise of transformative economic development.

During his visit, Minister Pradhan suggested that IIM Sambalpur should actively participate in the skill development of weavers and the capacity building of farmers in the rural-based economy. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of capacity building for Panchayat Raj institutions to empower local governance. Speaking highly of Sambalpur's cultural significance in Odisha, Minister Pradhan envisioned IIM Sambalpur as a key driver in transforming the region into an intellectual and educational hub. He emphasized that the establishment of IIM Sambalpur, alongside prestigious institutions like Hirakud Dam, Sambalpur University, VIMSAR Medical College, VSSUT Engineering University, and Gangadhar Meher University, would further enrich the area's educational landscape.

The event, organized by IIM Sambalpur, showcased the institute's commitment to sustainable practices and environmental preservation. Chief Guest Dharmendra Pradhan participated in a Plantation Drive early in the morning, leading over 500 students from IIM Sambalpur and nearby schools in planting saplings on the expansive campus.

Following the Plantation Drive, Minister Pradhan engaged in a comprehensive Campus Tour, interacting with faculty members and students of the premier B-School. The tour provided valuable insights into the state-of-the-art infrastructure, academic facilities, and research centres at IIM Sambalpur.

Expressing gratitude to the Union Education Minister for his inspirational presence, Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, highlighted the appreciation received for the institution's modern classrooms. These cutting-edge facilities enable real-time information dissemination to students remotely located while the professor writes on the board.

The event garnered active participation from faculty members, staff, students, and representatives from various schools in the region, signifying the community's enthusiasm for IIM Sambalpur's contributions to education and innovation.
