The 13th Agricultural Science Congress was hosted by University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore on February 21, 2017. The varsity has been organizing the Agri Science Congress in collaboration with local institutes of Indian Council for Agriculture and Research. The Congress will end on February 24, 2017, and the theme of the Congress is ‘Climate-Smart Agriculture’. The main objective of the Agri Congress is to provide a platform for holding discussions on issues related to ‘Climate-Smart Agriculture’.

The Congress will also focus on various facets, which include socio-economic empowerment of farmers by developing technology and various policy initiatives for sustainable farming. Natural resource management at par with global climate change will also be one of the key issues of the Congress.
Bangalore is hosting the Agri Science Congress for the first time and distinguished scientists from all parts of the world will participate in the Congress. Agricultural scientists from the country as well as policy makers, students and farmers will also take part in the Congress and hold discussions on the theme.

The Agri Congress will also enable the seed companies, fertilizer manufacturers, dairy equipment, farm laboratory and all agricultural related service providers to display their products. They can also interact with potential clientele for promoting business and generating innovation.
The inaugural session took place on February 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre UAS, Bangalore. Mr. Vajubhai Vala, Governor of Karnataka and Chancellor of University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore inaugurated the Agri Science Congress.
