University of Birmingham (UK) Launches Language Course for India’s Future Engineers

  • University of Birmingham (UK), with its unique efforts, plans to kick-start an English language course to help engineering students who come to the city to study.
  • The three-week course is scheduled to begin in mid-November 2017.
University of Birmingham (UK) Launches Language Course for India’s Future Engineers

The University of Birmingham, located in the United Kingdom is all set to launch a three-week online training for Indian engineering students free of cost. The objective of the training will be to improve their technical English language skills. The varsity’s new Massive Online and Open Course (MOOC) is based on real first-year modules delivered at the University.

The course that will be launched is Electrical Engineering – Sensing, Powering and Controlling. The enrolled participants will be able to master different key concepts and terms in Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering.

The course will further offer direct entry to students who aspire to visit Birmingham to take up the discipline of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering. Apart from that, the course content will also be beneficial to any student who is planning to take up engineering in any discipline.

The duration of the online course offered by the University of Birmingham will be three weeks. It is scheduled to begin from November 13, 2017. The course has been developed by varsity’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Mr. Tim Jackson, Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham has made a vital contribution in designing the course.

The online course is an exceptional opportunity for especially those students whose first language/ mother language is not English. The course will brush up the language skills of the students in a systematic way following which they will be able to better comprehend and understand key concepts and terms associated with the engineering discipline.
