The University of Hyderabad (UoH) is set to achieve a significant milestone by inaugurating India’s biggest bio-incubator facility ‘BioNEST’ (Bio-Incubator Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies). The formal inauguration of BioNEST will take place on February 28, 2018, on the occasion of ‘National Science Day’ . Former Director of IISc Bangalore and Eminent Scientist, Professor G Padmanabhan will inaugurate BioNEST.
The bio-incubator facility was set up at School of Life Sciences at UoH and is spread over 20,000 plus square feet built-up area. BIRAC (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council) has supported the establishment of BioNEST at UoH.

BioNEST at UoH is located in the natural green serene environment and it is a significant centre of Knowledge Hub . The new incubation centre will play a premier role in working on emerging and new technologies necessary for multidisciplinary inputs in the fields of biotechnology and biology . The incubator centre will nurture new and early-stage start-ups to facilitate the translation of knowledge base into products, as well as, processes.
The new incubator facility at UoH is expected to bring together the budding entrepreneurs and high-quality researchers either from university or from outside to accelerate scientific enterprise that would focus on healthcare, biotechnology, life sciences and allied areas. Budding entrepreneurs in the field can access the general facilities, equipment at incubation centre and facilities at School of Life Sciences at UoH.

The BioNEST at UoH will incubate the start-ups and entrepreneurs in the field of healthcare, biotechnology, life sciences and allied areas. The new facility will have a deep impact on the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem of the region in general and the campus in particular.
