Two meritorious students pursuing their masters in integrated circuit technology from the University of Hyderabad grabbed international placement offers from Silicon Austria Labs (SAL). It is being considered as a major triumph and has encouraged the rest of the students to an utmost extent. The two students - Mounika Akula and Pankaj Venuturupalli were from the Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST) which is an integral part of the School of Physics. They have been offered a lucrative annual package of Rs. 45 lakhs. These students will be working on cutting edge radio technology at SAL located in Austria. This particular department of work is related to 5G and Massive - MIM0 technologies.

Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST) was established as a part of the School of Physics, the University of Hyderabad in the year 2014. Since the very year of its establishment, the department has been adding laurels to its hat. The students who are interested to join this department will be offered with three major programmes - Master of Technology in Microelectronics and VLSI Design (M.Tech in MVLSI), Master of Technology in Integrated Circuits Technology (M.Tech in ICT) and PhD in Electronics Science and Engineering.
