University of Mumbai on 19th January announced that about 75% of the winter semester examination papers have been assessed. The semester examinations were held between November 2017 and January 2018.
Arjun Ghatule, the acting director of examinations and evaluation, addressed a press conference and said that 10,49,303 out of 14,07,035 answer books have been checked. Arjun also added that the results will be announced soon and declaration will be within 45 days as instructed by the Maharashtra Public Universities Act .

Examinations for 402 programmes were conducted by the University of Mumbai. The exams started in November and ended in the last week of January. Results of 129 programmes with less number of students in each course, were declared previously. Total of 3.7 lakh students appeared for winter semester examination out of which only 6,167 students have got their results.
The University of Mumbai was in controversy due to its delayed results declaration after the introduction of online assessment by the university. However, the controversy will be subsided after the announcement of 75% results declaration.
