It seems like the University of Hyderabad is becoming a favourite among the students for pursuing higher studies. The varsity has received a total number of 58,034 applications for the admission to various courses for the academic session 2017-18. Compared to the previous academic session, the varsity witnessed 32% increase in the number of applications received. In the year 2016, the varsity received 44,000 applications.
Out of 58,304 applications received this year, 19,009 are from Telangana, 5,918 from Andhra Pradesh and 6,515 from Kerala. Category wise, 9.60 percent of applicants are ST, 15.83 percent applicants are SC and 35.09 percent applicants belong to OBC category. This year, around 37% of women candidates applied for various courses at the University of Hyderabad.

One of the officials of UoH announced that the varsity would conduct an entrance examination on June 1, 2017, to June 5, 2017, for the admission to various courses.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, Prof. Appa Rao Podile expressed that the varsity has become one of the favourable destinations for higher education among the students. He assured that the varsity would give more emphasis towards improving academic standards and quality education.

The applicants can download the hall tickets for UoH entrance examination from May 25, 2017. The hall tickets will be available for download on the official website of the University of Hyderabad.
