On 24th September 2019 during a review meeting at Lok Bhavan, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed concerned officials to speed up the construction process of the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design’s new building.
In the same meeting, the UP CM also suggested the officials to launch Diploma, Certificate and Degree programmes at the institute. An official statement released by the Uttar Pradesh Government said that the programmes should be introduced keeping in mind the requirements of the state.

Talking about the courses that are to be launched at the institute, CM says that the programmes should run along the lines of UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University). Mentioning the water supply project of the state that needed a number of plumbers, the CM said that there is a need to bring new technology in design for the ODOP (One District One Product) Scheme.
Supporting the arguement he said that the introduction of new technology and design will help increase the scope of the ODOP Scheme. Guests who come to the state should be presented with the products manufactures via the OPOD Scheme, he further added.

The new building of the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design is being constructed over four acres of land on the outskirts of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The construction of the institute is set to be completed in next five to six months, says Kshipra Shukla, Institute Director.
