UP School Holiday Due to Rain: The Meteorological Department, Government of India has issued a warning with a 'Red' and an ‘Orange’ alert in multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh for two days. Considering the severity of the situation, the administration of several districts has declared a holiday in all schools and lower educational institutions for a day i.e. September 12, 2024. However, it is speculated that the holiday might be extended for one more day as the rains become severe.
Recently, a major precipitation alert has been issued by IMD for several districts of Uttar Pradesh including Kheri, Mainpuri, Etawah, Hardoi, Aligarh, and more.

UP School Holiday Due to Rains on 12 September 2024
The authorities of 8 districts have declared a holiday in the schools of all classes (Government/private) to remain closed for September 12. Here is the list of these districts:
- Aligarh
- Agra
- Kannauj
- Jhansi
- Hathras
- Eta
- Jalaun
- Auraiya
However, the District administration of Hathras has issued directions to keep the holidays for both September 12 and 13 on these days.
Red and Orange Alert in UP Districts for 12 September 2024
Although IMD has announced that the whole state may observe rainfall in the next 24 hours, these districts have been issued Red and Orange alert due to excessive rain for September 12:
Red Alerts: Agra, Mathura
Orange Alerts: Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Aligarh, Mahamayanagar, Kanshiramnagar, Eta, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Jhansi, and Mahoba.
