Here is a good news for the students who want to pursue their higher studies and are seeking scholarships, as Dehradun-based University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has come with a total of 590 scholarships worth INR 3.53 crore for talented and deserving students for the academic year 2017-18.

The University had announced the news on 15 December 2016. This year, the University is awarding scholarships worth INR 1.53 crore which is much higher compared to the last year. The university has also included more new programmes that will offer scholarships.
These programmes are -
- MBA
- B. Design
- B. Planning
Keeping in mind the interest of the local students, the University has also announced special scholarships for students of Uttarakhand domicile. Around 150 topper students from state Board will get these scholarships as per other eligibility criteria. Besides offering the scholarship to the student of undergraduates, the University is also offering the scholarship for teaching assistantship to students intending to pursue post-graduate course either in M.Tech, M.Design or M.Planning.

Students availing these scholarships can earn a monthly assistantship and simultaneously carry out teaching and research related work at the designated campus for few hours every week.
The University has also invited applications from the students intending to pursue their course in Master of Design (MDes) and Bachelor of Design (BDes) in Industrial Design and Transport Design programme for the next academic year commencing from 2017. Students can get the application after remitting an amount of INR 1850 through online payment gateways. The last date for submission of the application is 10 February 2017.
