Union Public Service Commission has released the notification for Civil Services Examination for the year 2017 on February 22, 2017. UPSC Civil Services 2017 examination will be conducted to fill up vacant posts in various central services and All India services, which include IRS, IRTS, IFS, IPS and IAS. The candidates have to take preliminary examination initially and if they qualify prelims, they need to qualify in Mains examination. Interview or personality test is the final process of examination.

According to sources, the number of vacancies is expected to be 980 out of which 27 posts are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates.
Age Limit: -
- The upper age limit for SC/ST candidates is 37 years.
- 35 years is the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to OBC Category.
- 32 years is the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to General Category.
Number of Attempts: -
- Candidates belonging to General Category will have six attempts.
- Candidates belonging to OBC Category will have nine attempts.
- SC/ST candidates have no limit on the number of attempts.

Examination Pattern: -
- The examination is divided into prelims and mains.
- Objective questions will be asked in the preliminary examination.
- However, Mains exam consists of written examination followed by interview for qualified candidates.

- Online application forms can be filled only through official website of UPSC.
- On the home of UPSC website, click on ‘Apply Online’ link towards the right-hand side of the page.
- A new page opens which has the list of examinations.
- Click on the first link ‘Click Here for Part – I Registration’.
- Pay the application fee.
- After completing Part - I registration complete Part - II registration.
