  • UPSC has released a notification to apply for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II) 2017  to fill a total of 390 vacancies.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notification inviting all eligible, interested candidates to apply for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA NA) Examination (II) 2017 to fill a total number of 390 vacancies.

Candidates who are eagerly waiting for the Defence Jobs may now apply on the official website on or before June 30, 2017, till 6 pm. The written examination for seeking admission into navy, army and air force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA) will be conducted on 10 September 2017.

NDA and NA Examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year. The first edition was notified in the month of January this year.

The number of vacancies post-wise:

1. NDA (National Defence Academy)

2. NA (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme ): 55 vacancies post.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants shall have a look at the eligibility criteria of the examination mentioned below,

1. UPSC NDA NA II Exam Educational Qualification

  • For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA: Aspirants should have passed Class 12 examination with Mathematics and Physics as their subjects.

  • For Army Wing of NDA: Candidates should qualify Class 10+2 examination or equivalent examination from a recognised state education board or university.

2. UPSC NDA NA II Age Limit

  • Unmarried male candidates born between January 2, 1999, to January 1, 2002, are eligible. Only the date of birth mentioned in the Higher Secondary Examination Certificate/Matriculation will be considered.

  • Candidates are advised to verify the Age Relaxation before applying.

3. UPSC NDA NA II Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India. Also, the aspirants belonging from Bhutan or Nepal or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the purpose to settle permanently in India are eligible

Application fees:

Aspirants are supposed to pay the application fee online.

  • For the students belonging to general or OBC students category, the application is Rs 100

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) /Scheduled Tribe (ST) students or the candidates who are the son of JCOs/NCOs/Ors don't have to pay any application fee.

Steps to apply for UPSC NDA NA (II) Exam 2017

  • Go to the official website.

  • Click on ‘ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS of UPSC’.

  • Click on the NDA/ NA notification displayed.

  • Go through the instructions carefully before applying.

  • Registration is divided into two parts. In Part I, candidate is required to submit all the basic information while in Part II includes payment information, selection of exam centre and attaching photograph and signature

  • After submission, take a printout of the application form for further reference

Selection procedure:

The selection process includes two stage. It will be based on the results of the written examination followed by intelligence and personality test conducted by the Services Selection Board.
