Three-month certificate course on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to be introduced by Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University in Prayagraj. Citizenship (Amendment) Act was passed in the parliament of India on December 11, 2019. The course name will be the “Awareness Programme in Citizenship (Amendment) Act (APCAA)”.The purpose of the course is to spread awareness among the pupils on the new laws.

Kameshwar Nath Singh, the vice-chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University revealed that many students are already enrolled for the certificate course on CAA. The course commenced in January 2020.
Further Mr. Singh added that CAA is a public issue and law and the certificate course is designed to spread correct information about the law among the students. The course will help the students know the needs of the act and its need for the unity and integrity of the nation. There are many students who are showing interest in the programme and joining the course.

Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University is a public university situated in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh which was established in 1999. The university is named after Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon.
