Vedic Science Centre of BHU to Implement Environment-Friendly Methods of Agriculture

Vedic Science Centre of BHU which was recently inaugurated will start research for environment-friendly ways for agriculture. The research will start on April 1, 2020.

BHU’s Centre for Vedic Science has decided to do research work on agriculture to find environment-friendly ways for the agriculture process. The idea is to implement methodologies of Vedic period and use it in the present time

According to the professors, the centre will start the research from April 1, 2020. The research work will be done by Researchers who have appropriate knowledge of Vedic Science as well as modern methods of agriculture.

Addressing people, Upendra Tripathi who is the Centre coordinator Professor said that in the Vedic period the methodologies of agriculture were popular and they have gathered the information about the method. He also added that the methods used in the Vedic era were environment-friendly in which manure made of cow dung and tree leaves was used. Tripathi further said Hawans, Yagnas and chanting of mantras have a positive impact on the environment. It will also be a part of the research to analyse its impact on crops, plants and herbs.

He also explained the method of an experiment in which the wheat and gram seed will be sown in two vessels. One vessel will be kept in a room and the other will be kept in Yagya Shala where Yagya will be performed and mantras will be chanted. After a certain period of time, the difference between the growth of plants will be analysed and recorded.

Professor Tiwari said that research work like this is a need in modern times as the chemical fertilizer being used in modern times is affecting the fertility of the soil. The use of natural manure is essential to maintain the fertility of the soil. The farmers need to follow the traditional methods of farming and natural manure to keep the environment safe. He believes that the farmers would appreciate the traditional methods of agriculture.
