A number of educational institutes in UP are now conducting classes virtually due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak in the nation. With no clarity regarding the resumption of classes in schools, colleges and coaching institutes, this is the only viable option left to ensure the syllabus completion.
Online classes are being held through tools such as Skype, Google Hangouts, and Zoom. Teachers and students are also asked to remain online during school hours. Lucknow University has also released content on its website and has asked the students to resume their studies online. Meanwhile, the teachers have to ensure that the content which is being uploaded on the website is constantly updated. A private Rae Bareli school has been organising online classes since March 23 for classes 9 and 10. Children in junior classes have been asked to work from home and contact the teacher in case they face any issue.

However, a teacher has stated that virtual education is not as simple as it seems. Online teaching is not so effective as students also tend to mute teachers or each other. These issues cannot be resolved online. Also, for science students, virtual classes are not really the solution because experiments cannot be performed online. For the experiments, the physical presence of the students is required. Also, it is difficult to have group discussions online as students do not follow the format and then it gets tough to give marks.
