Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) has postponed the PG examinations scheduled on January 25, 2018, due to Karnataka bandh. The officials of the varsity confirmed that the postponed exams would be conducted on February 05, 2018. The timings of the examination will not be changed, clarified the varsity.
In the wake of Karnataka bandh, Bangalore University has also postponed the exams for UG and PG courses scheduled on January 25, 2018. Most of these exams are a part of distance education courses. The varsity has not yet released the revised schedule for exams. The officials of the varsity clarified that the revised dates would be notified on the official website soon.

Due to the bandh, normal life has come to a halt in Karnataka . Private schools have declared a holiday. Offices will also remain closed on January 25, 2018. Many IT companies in Bangalore have asked the employees to work from home.
Farmer associations in Karnataka have called for a statewide bandh on January 25, 2018, against central government’s policy towards Mahadayi dispute . The associations are expected to call for a statewide bandh again on February 04, 2018. The associations are demanding the central government to resolve Mahadayi water sharing dispute.

Universities postponing exams due to bandh or other issues have become common over the years. With an objective to ensure the safety of students, educational institutes declare a holiday during the unrest in the state.
