WB TET 2023: As the West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test 2023 is going to be held on Sunday, December 24, 2023 , the Primary School Education Board shared that a whopping 3 lakh candidates registered candidates are expected to write this exam. This enormous participation by the teachers is being seen as an after-effect of holding WB TET exams for five years before 2022. However, the board is ready to conduct the exam swiftly as it has created a record 743 test centres across the state to manage the mass.

Talking to the press, Goutam Paul, President, the West Bengal Primary School Education Board stated that all required arrangements have been made to organise the WB TET 2023 for all appearing candidates. Forming a record number of test centres in the states including five in Kolkata itself has been done to reduce the ratio of the number of candidates to each test centre.
He further added that almost 3.1 lakh candidates have registered for this year’s examination.
The exam is being conducted for a continuous second year in a row to fill around 10,000 vacancies of Primary Teachers in state government schools of West Bengal.
Bratya Basu, the Education Minister of West Bengal also ensured that the exam will be organised this Sunday despite the rumours and requests by BJP due to the date coinciding with ‘Bhagwad Gita Path’. However, the WBBPE has also been supported by the Calcutta High Court while hearing the prayer by Dilip Ghosh, MP-BJP. The court also asked the state government and police to organise both events together peacefully.
