What After JoSAA Round 5 Counselling 2024?
Here are the events that will be followed for IIT System, and NIT+ System admission:
IIT Admission
Based on the allotted seats, candidates will have to pay the seat acceptance fee, upload the documents required for admission, download the allotment letter for online reporting, and carry the original and photocopy of the documents, and college fees to the assigned college for institute reporting between July 17 to 22, 2024, by 5 PM.
Candidates can either pay the seat acceptance fee online using the facilities available on the JoSAA portal or use the e-challan of SBI to physically pay the fee at any SBI branch.
Candidates must not delay the process as it can lead to the cancellation of seats.
The seat acceptance fee only needs to be paid once. Those who opted for upgrade in Round 5, and have paid their seat acceptance fee, need not pay again.
In case candidates fail to meet the eligibility, the seat acceptance fee will also be refunded after deducting JoSAA withdrawal processing fee of Rs. 5000.
The authorities will check the certificates and verify them once again. Furthermore, biometric verification might be done to validate the biometric data which was captured during the examination. In case of ineligibility, the candidate will not be allowed to take admission.
Those who take IIT admission based on their allotted seat will not be eligible for JEE (Advanced) 2025.
No spot round or special round will be held for IITs by JoSAA or CSAB.
For IITs, candidates who do not get a seat cannot exit from the counselling process after Round 5 allotment.
NIT+ System Admission
Based on the allotted seats, candidates will have to pay the seat acceptance fee, upload the documents required for admission, and download the allotment letter for online reporting between July 17 to 22, 2024.
Along with the seat acceptance fee, candidates also need to pay the partial admission fee through JoSAA portal, failing which they might lose their seat, which will be filled by some others during CSAB Special rounds.
In such a case, the seat acceptance fee will be returned after JoSAA withdrawal deduction of Rs. 7000.
To withdraw, candidates will have to submit a duly signed declaration form (Annexure 8) on JoSAA portal and follow the mobile number verification processes. The reporting officer will decide on the plea based on the supporting documents that will be required to be uploaded with the declaration form. The decision will be uploaded on the official website, and based on it, candidates will have to download the approved/rejection letter.
For SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or 50 ST-PwD categories, the partial admission fee is Rs. 20000, and for other candidates, it is Rs. 45000.
This fee will be adjusted with the institute admission fee. The payment process and the conditions are the same as IIT.
Physical reporting will take place after CSAB Special Round Counselling 2024.
The authorities will check the certificates and verify them once again. In case of ineligibility, the candidate will not be allowed to take admission. Those who wish to NIT admission based on their allotted seat must refer to csab.nic.in for the physical reporting schedule.
Vacant seats after Round 5 will be filled through CSAB special round counselling and not through JoSAA.
For NIT’s, candidates who do not get a seat can exit from the counselling process by submitting a request for exit on the JoSAA official website, and by ticking the reasons justifying the same.
