CAT Eligibility Criteria 2023

The conducting IIM, i.e., IIM Lucknow, will formally declare the particular eligibility requirements for CAT 2023 closer to the exam date. However, based on the general eligibility criteria followed in previous years, the following eligibility requirements are likely to apply for CAT 2023:

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline that they pursued for three years.
  • It is essential that the degree is granted by a university that has been officially recognized by a national or state legislative act in India, as well as by other educational institutions that have been established by a law of Parliament or that have been designated as being regarded to be universities under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
  • Candidates who passed CA, CS, or ICWA with the required percentage may also register for CAT 2023.
  • Candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor's degree programme can apply for the CAT exam 2023.

Minimum Percentage

  • Candidates belonging to the general category must have a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
  • Candidates from the SC, ST, and PWD/DA categories have the opportunity to receive a 5% relaxation and must have an aggregate score of at least 45% in order to be considered.

Age Limit

There is no age limit for candidates applying to appear for the CAT exam.

Reservation

Candidates belonging to SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), OBC (Other Backward Classes), PwD (Persons with Disability), and other categories are eligible for reservation of seats.
