The CAT 2021 notification will be released in the last week of July 2021, and speculations about the future of the exam have increased. While students have already wondered about whether CAT 2021 will be postponed , rumours have also been flying about whether the CAT exam pattern will see any changes.
If the IIMs decide to do any changes to the CAT exam pattern, students will have to alter their CAT 2021 exam preparation strategy . With over 2 lakh aspirants appearing for the exam, there is a lot that depends on this particular decision. However, there is no change as of now regarding any change in the exam pattern of CAT 2021.
The exam pattern of CAT 2020 was altered and the duration of the exam was reduced to 120 minutes, shortening the time duration to 40 minutes per section. It is yet to be known if CAT 2021 will follow the same exam pattern or if it will go back to following the pattern of the previous years. As per the analysis, CAT 2021 will not be delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Will CAT 2021 Be Conducted in an Online Proctored Mode?
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, many entrance exams were conducted in the online mode so as to follow social distancing protocols. However, CAT 2020 was held as a centre-based exam as usual. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that CAT 2021 will be conducted in an online proctored mode.
While some exams like MAT 2020 IBT was held as an online proctored from home exam in which candidates could appear for the exam from their homes, CAT did not change its method last year.
As of now, the only option in front of the candidates is to be patient and continue their CAT 2021 preparation with full rigour.
