As the schools & colleges remain shut and the engineering & medical entrance exams are postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the confusion still pertains among the students for JEE Main 2021 exam. Every year, JEE Main exam is conducted in two phases: January and April. The April 2020 exam was postponed twice in the year and is now scheduled to be conducted from September 01 to 06, 2020 due to the COVID-19 lockdown. In the meantime, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to review the January 2021 JEE Main exam after the schools and colleges reopen.

Will JEE Main January 2021 be postponed?
As per the HRD Ministry official, the NTA will decide upon the JEE Main January 2021 exam after the schools reopen. He further added that NTA will have to take into consideration the board exams of class 12th that whether it will be conducted in January 2021 or not. As per the HRD official, the further delay of board exams will affect the JEE Main and NEET UG entrance exams. So, the final decision as to whether JEE Main January 2021 be postponed will be made only after the reopening of schools.

Some other national level entrance exams which will be affected due to board exams delay are Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) and Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) . As per a source from CBSE, there is no definite time when the board exams will be conducted. However, if the condition does not improve in the next few months, the CBSE board may have to review the conduction of exams in February 2021.
