Gujarat School Holiday on 2 August:
The schools in Gujarat are expected to be closed on 2 August as IMD has issued orange alert in some areas. As per predictions, parts of north and souh India will be experiencing extreme heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightening. Parts of Gujarat is also under orange alert with extreme heavy rain to heavy rain indications. The IMD has issued alert until August 8 for rainfall with highest risk on August 2 and 3 and gradually reducing over the week. The state has experience heavy rainfall in the August 1 evening and waterlogged in some parts. The area under highest risk is Saurashtra-Kutch.
Other parts of the state such as Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar,
Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch and Diu.
