A workshop to introduce Skill Based Training at undergraduate level in the affiliated Degree Colleges of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) was organized today in M.D. University. Experts from National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) gave presentation in the workshop.
MDU, Dean, Academic Affairs Prof. Sunita Malhotra inaugurated the workshop. She said that the need of the hour is to incorporate skill based training in the college curriculum. Director, Career Counselling & Placement Prof. Kuldeep Singh Chhikara welcomed the participants of the workshop. He said that skill based training is necessary to improve the employability of students.
Garima Batbar, Senior Officer, NSDC gave a detailed presentation on ‘Introducing Skill Based Training in Colleges’. Skill experts – Avneet Bajaj, Anshul Saxena, and Rohit Mehra threw light on scope of skill based training in IT/IT enabled services, Life Sciences, and Electronics respectively. Vote of thanks was proposed by the Director, UIET Prof. Rahul Rishi.
Principals and faculty members of affiliated colleges took part in this One Day Skill Development workshop. Notably, MDU had signed MoU with NSDC for imparting skill-based training at College/University level. This workshop was organized to initiate skill-based training in affiliated colleges of the University.e
