World University Rankings 2018: No Indian Institute in Top 100 for Life Sciences

  • As per THE World University Rankings, no Indian University has secured a position in the Top 100 Life Sciences College category.
  • Only Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) Bangalore has managed to bag a position in the band of  201-250. 
World University Rankings 2018: No Indian Institute in Top 100 for Life Sciences

As per the latest World University Rankings 2018, released by Times Higher Education, no Indian University has made it to the list of Top 100 universities of the world in the field of life sciences.

The top position has been acquired by Stanford University followed by the University College of London. According, to the World Rankings top universities/institutions to study life sciences are:

Even though none of the Indian institutes managed to score a position either in Top 50 or Top 100, various institutes fell into the category of 200-500. The I ndian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc ), has secured a position in the 201-250 rank band. IISC is ranked 14 among BRICS countries and is ranked 27 among Asian countries. Followed by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay ( 251- 300) band, and Aligarh University in the category of (301-400) band. Life Sciences is yet an emerging field and still has a long way to go.
