University of Delhi
or Delhi University declared its
first cut-off list
on
29th June’ 16.
Soon after the cut off list was declared students starting complaining that they are not given admission under unreserved categories if they belong to the reserved categories even though they have required percentage.
To solve this issue the
Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW)
wrote a letter to all the colleges requesting them to make sure that a student gets admission if he or she has the required percentage.
In the letter, the DSW wrote that it is completely not acceptable to deny admission if the student belongs to the reserved category but wants to take admission in the unreserved category.
He also said that the college has to give admission to the student if he or she is meeting the required criteria and have the necessary documents.
To discuss this matter student associations like the
Student’s Federation of India
and
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)
met with the Dean of Student’s Welfare (DSW).
