The Google-Owned Online Community Video Streaming Platform Youtube has announced that it will fund the educators on youtube to make educative content on the Indian Languages. The announcement was done in the EduCon Summit held in New Delhi on Sunday, 1st September.
A top company executive from YouTube has informed that the platform has over 256 million users from India and the number is increasing day-by-day. The company is planning to contribute to the growth of online learning content on their platforms in several Indian Languages. In the EduCon summit, the company has granted funds to 8 online content creators in the sector education to develop their content on a larger scale. Satya Raghavan, the Director of Content Partnerships in YouTube India, said that there are the immense number of traffic coming from tier 2, tier 3 cities and rural areas as well in educative videos.
Raghavan added that with the help of the mentorship of YouTube’s content creators, the organisation is actively investing in the growth of educative content in all languages on youtube. The 8 youtube content creators who received the fundings are, ExamFear Education Hindi, Study IQ Education, Learn Engineering, D'art of Science, Don't Memorise, GetSetFlySCIENCE, Learnex-English Lessons Through Hindi and Let's Make Engineering Simple.
The content creators mentioned above are creating high-quality content in English, Hindi and Tamil on the sectors of English language training, political science , calculus, environmental science , chemistry and genetics .

Mr Raghavan expressed his amazement that the video library of YouTube is emerging as the leading platform for online learning. He said that it is the emergence of YouTube as the supplementary learning platform is a very incredible achievement. He informed that online learning videos are getting views on hundreds of millions worldwide. The ‘Wifi Study’ which uploads at least 30 videos a day with live Question Answer Session is the largest content creator in this field. The YouTube Learning channel has crossed 9 million subscribers in 2019.

Youtube has also rolled out ‘Learning Playlists’ especially for the people coming on the platform of YouTube to learn something. With this initiative, YouTube is trying to increase more footprints in online learning projects with its creators.
