Well, if I talk about BSc Agriculture at LPU, before proceeding I want to assert that LPU is the first private university in India that has got the ICAR accreditation which is a huge milestone that LPU has got in Science field. Undoubtedly, studying BSc agriculture in LPU will give an upper edge to the students because of robust curriculum and the space area which they provide for agricultural practises. Further, LPU also provides numerous scholarships and benefits of it can be availed by students. As I am an alumnus of LPU from science background I, have visited the greenhouse and agricultural fields, which I must say are very vast and the on-going projects are significant and impactful. LPU also offers various career pathways and depending upon students’ calibre the guidance is provided accordingly. In summation I would strongly recommend LPU for pursuing BSc agriculture as LPU moulds each person in such a way so that one can fit in this competitive world.

The most significant thing which should be emphasized is that LPU is the first private university which has been approved by ICAR.I along with my cousins had visited the fields, labs. In order to infuse understanding on emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture field visits are conducted to neighbouring farms, orchards and nurseries. Not only subject related education is imparted but also the professional enhancement is added by the university through the different courses like soft skills and communication skills. Major Highlights of the programme that I would be highlighting over here are as follows: a) The course would impart knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts and techniques of maintaining and enhancing soil fertility, crop production, crop management, crop improvement, biodiversity and sustainability of agriculture worldwide. b) The course would develop the ability to know farming practices and their scope to improve in the rural areas and the environments. c) It would help in applying the knowledge of basic science through Agricultural microbiology, Plant biochemistry and Biotechnology. d) It will focus on application of knowledge of Agri-business management and finance to develop profitable agricultural system. e) 19.25 LPA PLACEMENT OFFERED IN PANDEMIC BY DE SHAW LPU students have got top packages from leading Agriculture companies. LPU is well known for its B.Sc(Hons) Agriculture course. LPU is the first private University to get ICAR accreditation. The faculty is well qualified and most of them are Ph. Ds and provide full support to the students. The best thing is the University does not compromise with the academics as all the lectures are held and if a faculty wants a leave either the makeup lectures are planned or adjustments are provided for that particular slot. In this stream as most of the work is fieldwork, there every student is allocated a separate piece of land to perform their tasks in the supervision of the staff. If I talk about placements, University provides separate placement oriented classes, and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etcetera as part of the curriculum to prepare the students. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, and many other firms. LPU offers different types of scholarships on the basis of marks in either of the last two qualifications, LPUNEST, Sports, Defence, and many more. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, only one scholarship you will get is the maximum one. The best thing is if you get the scholarship, the tuition fees after getting a scholarship will be applicable every semester except a few types of scholarships.

One thing we should keep in mind before taking admission for such course, is that the University we are choosing, must provide us deep and practical knowledge of the core subjects, must adapt for new technologies faster and the University’s environment should be healthy and clean and LPU does it all perfectly. LPU becomes India’s first Private University to get ICAR Accreditation. Among all 8 institutions evaluated at ICAR’s 22nd Board Meeting, LPU School of Agriculture was approved for accreditation with one of the highest ratings. LPU focuses on quality education a lot and all the professors of LPU are highly qualified and friendly, LPU also focuses a lot on practical knowledge and agriculture students of LPU has to go through various such practical tasks and projects which makes it very easy to understand the concepts and develop a deep knowledge of the subjects. Through the Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE) program the students develop a real-time understanding of conventional agriculture methods and effective dissemination of knowledge to the farmers. In order to provide a basic understanding of emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture, field visits are conducted to neighboring farms, orchards, and nurseries In addition to core curricula, the course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. Now, these were just some of the few advantages of LPU but there is much more good to say about LPU like it’s infrastructure, study environment, placements, cultural programs and what not, I can definitely say that LPU would be worth joining. Thank you! Being Alumni of LPU, I would like to answer this question. At LPU, Admission in any programme depends on qualifying the Eligibility criteria for that programme. So, as per the official website of LPU, the Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) is defined as - Qualifying LPUNEST and Pass with 60% aggregate marks in: (a) 10+2 or Intermediate (with English*, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) OR (b) 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) OR (c) 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent. LPUNEST is National Entrance and Scholarship Test for admission to various programmes in Lovely Professional University. This test forms the basis of Eligibility and Scholarship for most of the programmes and for some of the programmes test is applicable only for scholarship. LPU NEST serves both the purposes. Also, if you have qualified LPU NEST for Eligibility purpose, you can also improve your score for Scholarship purpose as well. For qualifying the LPU NEST for Eligibility purpose, around 40% marks are required but for Scholarship purpose, cut-offs are required to be qualified for LPU NEST. So, qualifying the same, you can proceed for Admissions. Admissions in LPU have started for most of the programmes. In order to apply for the Exam, you can refer the following steps : 1 Register yourself on the portal 2. Fill the details 3. Choose the programme 4. Apply for LPUNEST 5. Make the payment for LPUNEST and Book the slot for the Exam i.e date and time for the exam as per your availability. 6. Appear and Qualify the LPUNEST and wait for Result 7. Participate in Online Counselling and Seat Allotment Process if applicable 8. After the seat allotment, proceed for Admissions. You can register yourself on the portal at this link - admission.lpu.in So, qualifying the Eligibility criteria and by participating in the online counselling schedule as mentioned on the website based on merit seat will be allocated to you and you can proceed for Admissions in any programme in LPU. Hope it helps !!

LPUNEST is National Entrance and Scholarship Test for admission to various programmes in Lovely Professional University. This test forms the basis of eligibility and scholarship for most of the programmes and for some of the programmes test is applicable only for scholarship. For most of the programmes, it serves both the purposes. As per the official website of LPU, the Schedule for LPUNEST has been started for all the programmes for this current session i.e 2021. As far as Scholarship is concerned, the amount of scholarship depends on the fee of the programme, date of admission and performance of the student in LPUNEST. Scholarship for a specific Programme depends on Performance in LPUNEST. There are three brackets: • LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category I cut-off • LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category II cut-off • LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category III cut-off This cut off depends on various parameters like number of students appeared, highest marks in the exam and many more. Also, there is no negative marking in this exam so chances of scoring well are more in this. 6. Thank you! Good Luck. One thing we should keep in mind before taking admission for such course, is that the University we are choosing, must provide us deep and practical knowledge of the core subjects, must adapt for new technologies faster and the University’s environment should be healthy and clean and LPU does it all perfectly. LPU offers different types of scholarships on the basis of marks in either of the last two qualifications, LPUNEST, Sports, Defence, COVID-19 Frontline Scholarship, and many more. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, only one scholarship you will get is the maximum one. The best thing is if you get the scholarship, the tuition fees after getting a scholarship will be applicable every semester except a few types of scholarships. The last date for admission to avail maximum scholarship is 15th July 2020. Hope this helps DVD
