Hi,

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardised test that is accepted for admission to various disciplines at many graduate and business schools across the globe. Aspirants who are interested in pursuing a master's degree, specialised master's course, MBA or doctoral degree can sit for the GRE 2017. GRE Test 2017 is conducted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), a US based organisation.

It is available both in computer-based and paper-based formats. In addition to the GRE 2017 general test, there are seven GRE subject tests that evaluate candidates’ knowledge in their respective fields.

For MBA:

Some universities only accept GMAT scores for admission to MBA programmes. There you may have to apply for both GMAT and GRE if you are targeting MBA as well as MS programmes.

Procedure:

  • Since both the exams are conducted multiple times a year, you can appear for the exams according to the application deadlines of the universities you are applying for.
  • GRE/GMAT scores are not enough for the application. Most of the universities ask either for a Statement of Purpose, Application Letter or Reference Letters. Some universities may require all three along with the exam scores.

Make sure that you fill your application on time and send all the required documents along with it.
