At LPU the MBA in hospitality and tourism management programme is meant for the students looking for a leadership role in the tourism and hospitality industry. The course focuses on the development of language skills for academic writing: the language of analysis, evaluation, discussion, description, and reflection. This course explores the geography of the culinary world with particular reference to the origins and diffusion of the world’s major staples and their relationships with regional cuisines and tourist sites. Introduction to tourism destinations worldwide and their geography, introduction to basics of computer software and hardware, IT, internet and networking with special reference to online reservation software and their application in Tourism and hospitality industry is also given. Accounting and group behaviour is also taught. The NIRF ranking of LPU in the management programs is 37. 6 LPA was the highest salary package 3.2 is the average salary package. For travel and tourism there are 4 major institutes from which aspirants can choose their institutions and courses.

1. NCHMCT

To take admission, you will have to appear for NCHMCT JEE exam.

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was set up in the year 1982 by the Government of India as an autonomous body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality education in the country. The Council imparts Hospitality Education & Training through 21 Central Govt. sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, 21 State Government sponsored institutes, 15 Pvt. institutes and 7 Food Craft Institutes, that function in different parts of the country.

2. Systematic Training and Education Programme (STEP)

Promoted way back in 1966 by the Oberoi Group, the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, Delhi is one of the top ranked hotel management (hospitality management) institute in India. OCLD offers a three-year Systems Training and Education Programme (STEP) which combines hotel management training with an undergraduate degree from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). OCLD doesn’t charge tuition fees from the students of its programme but pays them a monthly stipend (Rs.3,500) and after graduation all students are offered jobs in one of the 28 Oberoi Group hotels.

Programme starts: Mid - August
