Dear Student,

If you have completed your schooling till Secondary outside India and completed your Higher Secondary in India, you can apply to AIQ Medical Seats under the General Category. As per the eligibility criteria for medical admission through NEET UG, UR Category candidates are required to complete their Higher Secondary with Science and secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Biology, Chemistry and Physics combined. NEET UG 2024 Exam allows candidate of Indian Nationals, Foreign Nationals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indian (NRI), and Persons with Indian Origin (POI) to apply for the medical course admission process. While it is common for most NRIs to have completed their primary education abroad, if they have pursued their education from an Indian recognized Board/University, such as Cambridge or IB Board, they are also eligible to apply for medical course admission under the AIQ General Category/Management Quota instead of NRI Quota.

In this case, since the student has completed their Higher Secondary in India, they should not face any rejections while applying to medical course admission under the 15% AIQ General Quota. Based on their NEET UG Scores, they will be eligible to participate in the NEET Counselling process, and upon the final seat allotment, they'll be granted admission to their desired medical colleges. However, the student in question will be ineligible to apply for NEET state counselling process as all interested students must have completed their primary education from a State-recognised Board in this case.

Thank you
