However, many students opt for hostels for convenience. Security and campus life experience they offer. No, hostel accommodation is not compulsory for everyone at LPU. While many students, especially those from out of town or out of the country, choose to stay in the university-hosted hostels for convenience, those who live locally or prefer other accommodation options can commute from home. The decision to stay in a hostel depends on individual preferences and circumstances. LPU offers a variety of hostel options, with modern amenities, but students are free to arrange their accommodation based on their needs.

No, staying in the Hostel at Lovely Professional University(LPU) is not compulsory for everyone. While LPU offers hostel facilities to students, it is not mandatory for all students to stay in the hostel. Students who live in nearby areas or prefer to commute from home can opt for day scholar status, which means they don't have to stay in the hostel. The decision to stay in hostel usually left up to the individual student, based on personal preference, distance from the campus and other factors. However, for students coming from distant location or out of state staying in the hostel might be more convenient. You can choose between various types of hostels with different facilities based on your budget and preferences.

No, its not required to live in the dorm of LPU. Students have the option off living campus or in the university residence hall. Although LPU lets students choose according to their requirement and preference, the hostel is offered for those who seek easy access to campus amenities and a regulated living environment.

Hello Srikanth,

At LPU, living in the on-campus hostel is not mandatory. If you want you can opt for residential facilities outside the campus. The university will also help if appropriate, to provide residential housing off campus, either independently or through other arrangements. Therefore, you can opt for off-campus accommodation as well as living in an LPU hostel is not compulsory. However, many students prefer staying in the on-campus hostel, as it provides a safe environment and everything from food to extracurricular facilities are made available. If you want you can opt for hostels in LPU with shared rooms. The fees for those are comparatively lesser making it a bit affordable. LPU hostel fees for 2-seater range from Rs 1 to Rs 1.20 lakh per annum. Similarly Rs 90,000 to Rs 1.15 lakh per annum for 3-seater, Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 per annum for 4-seater, and Rs 75,000 to Rs 80,000 per annum for 5 and 6-seater rooms.

Hope this was helpful. Do ask for any more queries.
