In JBIT, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has been at the forefront of producing highly skilled software engineers. Computer engineers receive intense training in software design, hardware-software integration, and electronics engineering. The work is done on both the hardware and software side of computing, designing circuits as well as individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers. The JB Institute of Technology Dehradun campus offers facilities like a programming lab, R&D lab, web technology lab, multimedia lab and a computer centre for the CSE students.

Placement: According to the demands of the modern industrial environment, the JBIT CSE course produces the best computer specialists. The students are offered various job roles like computer programmer, data scientist, hardware engineer, systems analyst, system engineer, software developer, IT consultant, networking engineer, system designer, web developer, mobility tester, programmer, database administrator, e-commerce specialist and software tester. Companies like Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Flipkart, Paytm, IBM, Accenture, Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft, etc. recruit students from the JBIT Dehradun CSE placements.
