Hi, Being an alumni of LPU, I would suggest LPU is best for B.Sc. Forensic Sciences and it is a bachelor level Forensic Science course. Duration of this course is 3-years long and its syllabus is divided into 6-semesters. Forensic Science have major three parts: Medical, laboratory and field science. B.Sc. Forensic Sciences contract with the the most scientific ways in which various areas of crimes or activities can be defined. It is essentially a crime and laboratory-based profession. But the command of a forensic professional is also used in national cases for issues like improving the validity of a signature on a will, to a claim of the products debts. School of Bioengineering and Bioscience is established for Forensic Sciences in LPU. Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) to take admission in B.Sc. (Forensic Sciences) in LPU: Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Biotechnology) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST . HIGHLIGHTS: The Forensic Science domain promises to create a research and placement oriented environment. The department regularly works on student research projects with novel ideas of applied value. The highlights include: Faculty: Highly experienced faculty excellent in terms of their educational background, research and teaching. Fields of study: Forensic Chemistry, Forensic Toxicology, Forensic Anthropology, Ballistics, Explosives, Forensic Biology, Serology, DNA, Fingerprinting and Questioned Documents. Thrust Areas of research: Analysis of drugs by conventional and modern techniques, security feature analysis, Fingerprinting analysis, studies on dentures for disaster victim identification and forensic wildlife analysis. B.Sc. Forensic Sciences Employ Areas: Crime Branches Armed Forces Security Agencies Colleges & Universities Police Departments Forensic Labs B.Sc. Forensic Sciences Job Scope: Environmental Investigator Police Officer Drug Tester Forensic Researcher Forensic Scientist Crime Scene Investigator Private Investigator Forensic Consultant Drug Analyst

Due to increase in crime rate and criminals, the scope of Forensic Science is increased exponentially. There are lots of job opportunities in the field of Forensic Science. The need of forensic scientists is huge all around the world, especially in India. Some of the forensic scientists visit the crime scene to collect the evidence themselves and another one work in a forensic laboratory to perform analysis on objects. In the forensic laboratory, they testify as expert observers in both criminal and civil cases and can work for either the defense or the prosecution. Forensic scientists can be employed in the government sector. They work in different law enforcement agencies and investigation departments such as police, investigative services of state and central government and legal system. Some of the private agencies also employed those candidates who have some qualification in this field. A trained forensic scientist may hire by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) & Intelligence Bureau (IB). You can also work as a freelancer as forensic scientists specializing in one segment & can be paid much. You can also work as a legal counselor after gaining experience as a Forensic Scientist.

The word forensic comes from the Latin term forensis, meaning "of or before the forum. In modern day it can be termed as “pertaining to court of law.” Forensic science is a science applied to criminals to collect evidence and produce them before court of law. During any crime science certain evidences remain un-noticed even by the experts. In those situation the criminals are found be innocent in the absence of adequate proofs and hence they are set free. Forensic science is really a science that helps to collect certain diminutive evidences for instance blood, semen, sweat and pubic hairs, body hairs or finger prints on door or wooden cart etc. Forensic investigators apply certain tools and techniques to find those finer details to present before court and re-create the whole crime scene. It is indeed a very interesting career and has a lot of explorations. The scope of forensic science study is vast. You can get jobs in various governments & private sectors. The study will improve your skills and knowledge. You also may employ in Forensic Laboratories, Detective Offices, Banks and other Govt. and private agencies. Top 5 Highest Paying Forensic Science Careers 1. Forensic Medical Examiner. Perhaps the highest paying position in the field of forensic science is forensic medical examiner. 2. Forensic Engineer. 3. Forensic Accountant. 4. Crime Scene Investigator. 5. Crime Laboratory Analyst. Prospects of forensic science lie in the job outlook and salary potential for the career. The Bureau of Labour Statistics provided an estimate of 14 percent job growth through 2028. While the average salary was Rs.63,170, the BLS mentioned that the highest-paid forensic scientists made over Rs.97,350 in May 2019. This is a selective course and only those with a serious intent prefers opting a career in it. There are few universities who provide a fruitful higher education in it which also complements with fair placements in this regard. I found the curriculum and course design of LPU quite promising. Details can be checked by www.lpu.in

The field of forensic science in India has superior scope for development. It is one among the few careers which pays well even in a dull economy. Students with basic degrees in chemistry, biology or physics can opt for a master's degree in this field. The field of forensic sciences has an abundance of opportunities for those who are keenly interested in criminal investigation, science and legal matters. The Indian government has been taking robust steps to promote forensic science to improve its applicability in modern day criminology. At the beginning of 2020, the government passed the National Forensic Sciences University bill. It believes that strengthening the study of forensic sciences and criminology play a crucial role in cracking criminal investigations and bringing down crime rates. Here is a brief list of careers one can consider taking up in India and the agencies that hire forensic experts: 1. Forensic Ballistics Expert 2. Bloodstain Pattern Analyst 3. Forensic DNA Analyst 4. Forensic Toxicologist 5. Digital Forensic Expert 6. Forensic Legal Expert 7. Crime scene Investigator 8. Forensic engineer 9. Forensics document examiner 10. Forensic Psychologist/Anthropologist However, one needs to be very careful with the choice of the university as that would build way to an effective career. There are many universities that are offering this course and LPU being one of them. Let me explain the curriculum as that would give you the clarity about the course. The Forensic Science domain promises to create a research and placement oriented environment.
