How to Calculate JEE Main Percentile Score?

Using a normalisation procedure called the percentile score formula or the percentile normalisation formula, the percentile on the JEE Main exam is determined. An outline of the calculation process is provided below; the precise details of the formula may differ slightly based on the year and the particular exam session.

  • Raw Score Calculation:

Initially, the JEE Mains performance of each candidate is used to compute their raw score. The candidate's actual marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as well as their overall mark are combined to form the raw score.

  • Percentile Calculation:

The distribution of exam results for all candidates who took the test is then used to calculate each candidate's percentile. This is carried out both overall and by subject. The number of candidates who received a score that was equal to or lower than their raw score is multiplied by 100, divided by the total number of candidates, and used as the formula for calculating the percentile.

  • Percentile Normalisation:

To maintain fairness and comparability between sessions, the percentile scores of various JEE Main 2024 exam shifts or sessions are normalised. This is done to adjust for potential differences in the degree of difficulty between sessions. To account for these differences in JEE Main 2024 marks vs percentile, the normalisation process modifies the candidates' raw scores. The result is a normalised percentile score that can be used for ranking and selection.

Formula for Calculating JEE Main Percentile 2024

  • Total Percentile Formula (T1P) - (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session.

  • Total Mathematics Percentile Formula (M1P) - (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than M1 score in Mathematics) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session.

  • Total Physics Percentile Formula (P1P) - (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than P1 score in Physics) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session.

  • Total Chemistry Percentile Formula (C1P) - (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than the C1 score in Chemistry) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session.

How many marks is 80 Percentile in JEE Mains 2024?

80 percentile in JEE Main 2024 equates to around 50-60 marks in the JEE main 2024 exam, which is considered to be a low score. With the help of a score in the range of 50-60 it becomes challenging for a candidate in getting admission across the top engineering colleges.

How many marks in 90 Percentile in JEE Mains 2024?

90 percentile in JEE Main 2024 equates to around 85+ marks in the exam. The score of 85+ marks in JEE main exam is considered to be a moderate score and candidates belonging to reserved categories can get admission in various renowned institutions.

Good Score in JEE Mains 2024

A JEE Main score of 250 is regarded as good, and getting into the 85th or 95th percentile is the best range for NIT admission. To be admitted to the elite NITs, applicants must also place among the top 15,000–20,000 students who have written the JEE Main exam. Depending on the college they wish to attend, different candidates may have different expectations for a good JEE Main 2024 score. The JEE Mains score needed for admission to a top IIIT will be different from that needed for admission to a top NIT college in India. Hence, a student's desire to enrol is what determines a good JEE Mains score. Candidates can check the table below to have an extensive idea about the good JEE Main score.

Hello Durgesh, the cut-off for admission to K.K. Wagh College of Nursing is based on the marks obtained in the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) for Nursing. The MHT CET for Nursing is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The cut-off for admission to each branch at K.K. Wagh College of Nursing varies from year to year. The cut-off is usually higher for the more popular branches, such as B.Sc Nursing. Candidates can checkout the K.K. Wagh College of Nursing cutoff 2023 when it is released by the college.
