The All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS has released the result for AIIMS PhD entrance exam - January Session on 10th January 2020. AIIMS Ph.D. 2020 Eligibility Criteria (Medical & Non-Medical)
There are two eligibility criteria for AIIMS PhD admission set up separately for students of medical and non-medical background. The students before applying have to mention his background for being considered eligible as per the AIIMS Ph.D criteria 2020 set for them. The detailed eligibility criteria of both the backgrounds are as follows,
AIIMS Ph.D Eligibility Criteria for Medical Background Students 2020
- The candidates must have scored 55% marks in minimum in MBBS or BDS Degree
- The candidates have successfully completed his/her post-graduation ( MD / MS / MDS / DM / M.Ch ) with a valid certificate awarded in medical degrees
- Only candidates passing from colleges approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) will be allowed to apply.
AIIMS Ph.D Eligibility Criteria for Non-Medical Background Students 2020
- For the non-medical category, students who have passed M.Tech , BAMS and M.Sc (Other than Nursing) from any UGC recognised Indian University is counted eligible
- Candidates who have done their masters from distance universities will not be counted eligible

AIIMS Ph.D. 2020 Application Process & Fees
To apply for AIIMS Ph.D. 2020 candidates will have to visit http://phd.aiimsexams.org. The first time user will have to complete the online registration process with their personal details, academic records and scanned documents. The students will also have to pay the application fees in the online mode.
The students, one registered will have their username and password. We suggest students note down their Username and Password so that they can log in with those credentials later in the students portal. All the future communications will be done on the student portal only.
- AIIMS Ph.D. Application fees for General and OBC: 1,500/- rupees
- Aiims Ph.D. Application fees for ST and SC: 1,200/- rupees
AIIMS Ph.D 2020 Entrance Exam Pattern
The entrance examination paper of the AIIMS Ph.D admission process is divided into two parts. The examination is taken out of 70 marks of which, Stage 1 of the exam has 30 marks and stage 2 has 40 marks.
Stage - I comprises of Aptitude related MCQs that cover English (Written and verbal skills), Research Methodology, Biostatistics, Cell Biology, Lab Technology, etc.
The Stage - II question paper can only be solved by the medical graduates who have passed the PG Medical course in any of MD, MS, MDS and M.Sc Medical. This portion will carry a total of 40 Marks in MCQs.

- Duration of the Exam: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
- Type of Questions: Objective Type

- For 1 correct answer: 1 mark is awarded
- For 1 wrong answer: ⅓ mark is deducted from the total score
AIIMS Ph.D 2020 Selection Process
The selection process of the AIIMS Ph.D course 2020 session will be based on weightage scored by the candidates in three factors, on which, the entrance examination is the one. The entrance examination is conducted for 70 marks and each mark refers to 1 weighage point and the highest is 70. 10 marks of total weightage are reserved for the successful fulfillment of the candidate’s criteria and 20 marks are reserved for the departmental assessment which happens after the entrance.

The selection list of the Ph.D. candidates is then prepared on the basis of the chronology of weightage (from high to low). The students who appear in the selection list can go directly to AIIMS and complete the admission formalities within a given date.
The minimum pass mark in the entrance examination to proceed forward to the Departmental Assessment is 35.
After the final merit list is prepared, the students will have to appear for the counselling session in front of the AIIMS officials. The students will have to carry their admit card issued previously for being eligible to walk into the counselling hall. The official letter of the counselling process will be shared with the students after the departmental assessment which they have to carry as well. The students will have to specify their choice of the department where he/she wants to do his/her research. The students cannot change their preferred department after this point.

In the second stage of Departmental Assessment, the candidates have to verify their claimed academic details by providing the original copy proofs of results and certificates which they previously uploaded as a scanned copy in the application portal. The invigilators will check if the documents are all correct and legitimate. Important documents required for the AIIMS Ph.D 2020 Admissions are,
