About AP TRT/ AP DSC and AP TET cum TRT 2020

AP TRT or AP DSC is a teacher recruitment test conducted by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh to fill vacant posts in government schools across the state. The posts include Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) posts, SA (School Assistants), PGT (Post Graduate Teachers), Language Pandits and PETs (Physical Education Trainers). On the other hand, the recruitment of teachers for AP Model Schools also comes under the ambit of AP DSC.

AP TET cum TRT is the new addition to AP TRT. Recently, NCTE issued a notification stating that B.Ed graduates are eligible for Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) posts in government schools across the state. Therefore, the state government has to tweak its eligibility rules for SGT graduates. Instead of conducting TET again, the state government has included TET in TRT. 80% of weightage will be given to TRT, while TET will have only 20% weightage.
