Graduate Aptitude Test - Biotechnology (GAT-B) is an all-India entrance test conducted annually to offer admissions to different courses in the department of biotechnology. The candidates through the
GAT-B exam
are selected for Junior Research Fellowship. GAT-B test is conducted for granting admission to the Department of Biotechnology supported Postgraduate programs in Biotechnology and allied areas in the participating institutions. The examination for GAT-B is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

GAT-B Overview
GAT-B exam for the year 2023 was conducted on May 13, 2023. The admit card for the same was also released by National Testing Agency (NTA), the conducting authority for the exam.
GAT-B exam is conducted yearly to grant admission in DBT-supported PG programmes such as MSc Biotechnology, MSc Agricultural Biotechnology, MVSc, MTech Biotechnology, and MSc in allied areas. Almost 1,221 seats are available in 34 participating institutes that offer admission in DBT-supported PG courses through GATE-B.
