The law entrance exam is held for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law courses offered by 22 NLUs across the country. Several other law colleges of India also accept CLAT scores for shortlisting students for their courses.

The CLAT 2020 exam was rescheduled to be held on 22nd August 2020 but had been postponed once again. The revised exam date is out now and CLAT 2020 will be held on 28th September 2020. The registrations for CLAT 2020 had started from 1 January and went on till 15th August. Many law entrance exams are being postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak .
