CSAB Special Counselling Registration 2024: Dates, Steps to apply, and documents required

CSAB Special Counselling Registration 2024: The registration, choice filling and payment for the special round started on July 31, 2024, and ended on August 3, 2024. The  CSAB round 1 seat allotment 2024 results have been released on August 5 and the CSAB 2024 seat allotment result for round 2 will be released on August 10, 2024. Candidates can check the opening and closing ranks after the seat allotment results.

The Central Seat Allocation Board conducts counseling for engineering, technology, architecture, and planning for UG programs in IIEST, NIT, IIIT, SPA, and other institutes. As the JoSAA rounds end the vacant seats are filled via CSAB special rounds. Applicants can check the important dates, steps to apply, and documents required here in this article.

Here are some steps to apply for the CSAB counselling registration 2024.

1. The candidates need to register online for the counselling firstly. Make the payment once registration for the counseling is done.

  • Applicants should check the eligibility criteria for the examination before proceeding with online registration.
  • The eligible candidates are required to do a fresh registration on the official website (csab.nic.in).
  • Update the state of eligibility, nationality, gender, and category, during the registration of CSAB 2024 registration round.
  • Candidates can also check the link for a web link to request category restoration.
  • Post the registration the applicants should pay the special round enrollment fees. They can pay the fees through net banking, credit card, debit card, and SBI e-challan.
2. Now choose the preferred college and course that you are aiming for. The applicants can also only fill in the choice till the window for choice filling is open.
  • Candidates who have completed the registration process can fill in the choices for colleges and courses. Check the eligibility criteria for each college before making choices.
  • Extra seats are also available at the later stage of counselling. Check the vacancy status before filling the seats.
  • Those who have appeared for JoSAA rounds can also participate in CSAB counselling.
  • Only one choice should be filled during the choice filling. At last, take the printout and download the locked choices.
3. For special rounds 1 and 2, the seats will be allotted, choose the willingness option next and upload the necessary documents, then the payment needs to be completed (please note that steps are similar for both rounds). After the payment online reporting and document verification are important.
  • The result of the seat allotment will be published online. Applicants can check their allotment status with the login credentials on the CSAB portal.
  • Seat allotment is according to the JEE Main-2024 ranks for the vacant seats.
  • Applicants can choose from the 5 willingness options that are freeze, slide, float, surrender, and withdraw.
  • These options are only applicable to candidates who have not been allotted seats in special round 1.
4. Lastly, candidates need to be physically present at the college that has been allocated to them. Not reporting to the institutes might lead to negative consequences.
  • Pay the balance of institute fees while you are present at the college on the first day.

Documents Required and Application Fees

These are the following documents that are required by the candidates to upload in the registration process. Candidates whose documents have been verified by the NIT+ system while JoSAA 2024 rounds 1-5 are not required to upload the documents. Apart from them, the other candidates need to upload these documents.

  1. PWD certificate (if applicable)
  2. Category certificate (ST, SC, OBC-NCL, Gen-EWS)
  3. State of eligibility certificate, this applicable is only to candidates who have passed 12th from outside India
  4. Affidavit for PWD candidates
  5. Class 10 and 12 certificates or mark sheet

Can candidates directly register for the CSAB counselling?

Yes. Candidates can register only once for the Counselling. Online Registration by all eligible candidates will be allowed in all rounds.

 

Can candidates participate in CSAB if they withdraw from JoSAA?

Yes. Candidates can participate in the CSAB special round if they withdraw their allotted seat from JoSAA.

Does CSAB have choice filling?

Yes. Candidates can add as many choices in their order of preference as they wish to from the available choices.

 

 

Which rank is considered in the CSAB special round?

Candidates’ rank in the Common Rank List i.e. CRL rank will be used in CSAB Special Round. This will not affect the reserved category seats since Category Quota seats are allotted to candidates of that category only. Thus, seat allotment is the same except the fact that CRL ranks are used in the CSAB Counselling.

 

Is 75% criteria required for CSAB counselling?

Candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%. Candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

 

Do candidates need to register online in CSAB-Special Round for seat allocation across vacant seats NITs/ IIEST/ SPAs/ IIITs and GFTIs?

Yes. The eligible candidates desirous of participating in the CSAB-Special Rounds must undertake a fresh registration via online mode at csab.nic.in.
