M.Tech Admission at IIT Kanpur
IIT Kanpur offers an MTech degree in 15 specializations. There are around 736 MTech seats in IIT Kanpur. The MTech admission in IIT Kanpur is done through the GATE examination score. For normal (non-sponsored) candidates, admission to the MTech program requires a valid GATE score. Students having a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 during the last two years of their BTech/BS (4-year) degree from IITs are exempt from the GATE score requirement.
Students must register on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP)and on the IIT Kanpur official website. The admission offers will be released through COAP counselling based on their cutoff scores.
To be eligible for MTech at IIT Kanpur, you must have a four-year bachelor's degree in science or engineering or a master's degree in science with grades that meet the required minimum. Students from the SC, ST, and PwD categories are eligible for a relaxation of 5% aggregate or 0.5 CPI based on their minimum eligibility score.
