Truths of JEE Advanced 2025 Exam

We have presented some validities about the JEE Advanced 2025 that need to be known to the candidates appearing for the upcoming session.

Following are the facts that candidates need to know about JEE Advanced 2025 exam:

Fact 1. No one cares about how you are solving the question paper. It all matters how many questions you are getting correct. It is not investigable how you have solved the questions and got the answers.

Fact 2. Since negative marking is induced in such national entrance exams, candidates need to be very careful about it. Blind guessing of answers cannot be done. Instead, you can do the back elimination method of the four options that are made available in the answers.

Fact 3. Entrance exams follow a rule called the 25% rule which means the answers are distributed equally into 25% amongst all the four options. This is to say that all the answers will have an equal number i.e. 25% will be ‘a’. 25% will be ‘b’,25% will be ‘c’ and 25% will be ‘d’. This is to make sure that candidates do not score out of probability.

Fact 4. If you answer all the questions as a single option, suppose, ‘d’ for all the questions, you will get 25% of the questions correct. Candidates score +3 marks for correct answers. Since there are negative markings of (-1) induced in JEE Advanced 2024 exam, you will end up getting zero. To explain this, one needs to understand this formula, “ [(y/4) x (3)] – [(3y/4) x (-1)] =0”

Therefore answer wisely if you do not know the answer to any question.

Tricks to Score Correct Answers in JEE Advanced 2025 Exam

Following are the tips and tricks that the candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2025 exam can follow.

Substitution Method

When you are given questions that say to find the value of the variable, you can use the four options, substitute them with the questions, and tally with the answer. The option that fits the question is the correct answer.

Values and Units

Taking a question from thermodynamics or heat, If the answers are questioned in Celsius and Fahrenheit, the correct answer will be the unit with the majority in the options. For example, if the options are given as the options below and the answer is 10:

  1. 10 C
  2. 60 C
  3. 10 K
  4. 70 C

For the majority of the cases, the correct answer will be 10 degrees Celsius.

Prefer the middle values

The most important tip that you can follow while at JEE Advanced 2024 is that avoid extreme values. When you have four alternatives, always the alternatives will have one highest number and another lowest. Try to dodge those.

In 59-60% of cases, the extreme answers are incorrect.

Practice the previous year's question papers of JEE Advanced

It is always advisable to practice the question papers of JEE Advanced . When candidates practice them, they are able to figure out the types of questions asked in the exam. There are also some cases where the questions are repeated. Therefore, candidates need to practice them prior to the JEE Advanced 2025 exam.

Moreover practising these papers will help the candidates to boost their confidence, increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and help in preserving time management skills.

Time management skills are very essential for JEE Advanced 2025 entrance exam as it is based on MCQ questions that need to be answered in a fixed amount of time.

Calculating n- terms in Mathematics

When questions are asked to find out the value of n in any particular question, it is often seen that the answer is either 1, 2, or 3. One trick that can be used by the candidates to solve questions is, to put 1, 2, or 3 in the options given in the answer section. The option that justifies your question is your correct answer.

NCERT Books for Chemistry

The best idea to score well in JEE Advanced Chemistry is to follow the NCERT books. The questions are asked directly from the NCERT books in chemistry. Especially inorganic chemistry there are questions where the exact lines are quoted.

Dimension Analysis

Suppose the question says to find the velocity of an electromagnetic field with a weird orientation. Where the value of the fields is given as P and Q. and the options of the answers to this question are given as:

  1. (2Q/P) 1/2
  2. (2P/Q)
  3. (2Q/P)
  4. (2P/Q) 1/2

As we know, the Dimensions of a Magnetic Field are (M1L0T-2A-1) and the Dimensions of an Electric Field are (M1L1T-3A-1), therefore Q/P will give the velocity. For this question, the correct answer will be option 2.

Easiest Topics to Fetch Marks

Some of the topics which can fetch more than 20+ marks in JEE Advanced Physics include nuclei, radiations, and atoms. Therefore these topics need to be prepared by the candidates and it needs at least 1 day to understand the topics.

Clear Your Mind on the Marking Scheme

Following the marking scheme closely will help you understand how to continue with the question paper. Look for questions like "Match the Following" that have no negative marking. Never neglect to attend to those questions and make the most of them.

Probability is Not Efficient.

Before diving into JEE Main MCQ technique, you should be aware that the probability method is a no-no. Answers for the full question paper are evenly allocated among the four alternatives in both JEE Main and Advance. It suggests that at least 25% of each choice is correct. As a result, you cannot estimate responses based on chance at random.

Assumption Technique

One of the easiest techniques that can be applied is the assumption trick. If the question is asking with Ɵ, you can easily substitute it with an assumed value suppose 60 degrees. Thus this trick is similar to the substitution technique.

Introductory Topics

Candidates need to work hard on the introductory topics of Physics. There is at least 3 to 4 question on topics such as dimensions and approximation. Therefore candidates are always advised to revise the introductory topics of Physics from the NCERT book of class 11. These questions are easy to solve and also fetch a lot of marks. Questions from measurement should also be prepared.

Domain and Function

If you are worried about ways to solve questions related to domains and functions, this trick will indeed be helpful for you.

If a = { 3,4,5,6,7) b ={ 5,6,7,8) and a A, b B then find out the function in the given set.

The following options are given:

  1. f1 = {(a,b): b = a + 1}
  2. None of these
  3. f3 = { (a,b): a + b = > 7}
  4. f2 = {(a,b): b < = a}

You can easily crack this question even without solving the full question. All you need to do is put the highest value of the set in the subsequent options, the correction will satisfy the equation.
