Karnataka BEAD D Pharm Admissions

The Karnataka (BEAD) D Pharm Admissions process 2025 is expected to start in October 2025. The last date for submitting the application form is in November 2025. Additionally, the deadline for payment of the application fee is also set for November 2025. Lastly, there will be a correction window available during the same month, allowing applicants to make any necessary adjustments to their submissions.

The Board of Examining Authority (BEAD) manages admissions for the D Pharmacy (Diploma in Pharmacy) course in government and private pharmacy colleges across Karnataka. BEAD fills a limited number of seats in private colleges and all the seats in government colleges. Candidates wanting to enrol in the D Pharmacy program in Karnataka must follow the process set by BEAD. They also need to meet the eligibility requirements defined by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

It is important to keep in mind that only a few seats in private colleges are available under the government quota. College management fills about 80-90% of the D Pharmacy seats, while only 10-20% are filled under the government quota.

About DPharma Course

D.Pharma is a 2-year diploma course in which students learn about drug formulation, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical chemistry, which provide the skills and knowledge needed to work in pharmacies, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies. The D.Pharma course includes both theory and practical work in subjects like biochemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology.

BEAD D Pharma Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates aspiring for D Pharma admission in Karnataka government and pharmacy colleges must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below –

Domicile Rules

  • Domicile rules are applicable for government quota seats in private pharmacy colleges and all seats in government pharmacy colleges.
  • Candidates aspiring to secure admission under the government quota must have passed Class 10 & 12 in Karnataka, and he/ she must be the bonafide resident of the Karnataka state.
  • For management quota seats, domicile rules are not applicable.

Academic Requirements

  • D. Pharmacy aspirants of Karnataka must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream (PCB, PCBM, etc.)
  • The candidates must have a minimum of 45% marks in Class 12 to be eligible for the admission process.

Karnataka (BEAD) D Pharmacy Admissions 2025 Application Form

The process for applying to D Pharmacy programs in Karnataka differs based on whether candidates are applying for government quota or management quota seats. Details for each are outlined below:

For Government Quota Seats: Prospective D Pharmacy students in Karnataka should be aware that there isn't an online application process for government quota admissions. Instead, applicants must download the application form from BEAD's official website. Once filled out, candidates must submit the application form along with required documents to the Registration Committee at the Government College of Pharmacy.

For Management Quota Seats: Candidates interested in securing D Pharmacy admission through the management quota at private pharmacy colleges in Karnataka have two options. They can either apply directly through the college's official website or visit the college in person to obtain the application form. There's no requirement for an entrance test for direct admission. It's worth noting that a significant portion, ranging from 80-90%, of D Pharmacy seats in private colleges are reserved under the management quota.

Karnataka BEAD D Pharmacy Admission Process 2025

Candidates aspiring for admission in government pharmacy colleges or government quota seats in private pharmacy colleges across Karnataka must report to the registration committee at Government College of Pharmacy, Bangalore along with application form and mandatory documents. The admission process will be conducted at the venue itself, and the candidates will be allocated seats on the spot. The selected candidates must pay first-year D Pharmacy course fees, i.e., Rs. 12,000 to the Registration Committee and obtain an admission letter. The candidates must pay the D Pharma course fee within two days after the confirmation of admission.

Private pharmacy colleges offer D Pharmacy admission as per the merit/ percentage in Class 12. At the same time, admissions are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

All candidates are required to produce the list of important documents mentioned below, mandatory for Karnataka D Pharm Admission 2025, during the application form fill-up process:
  • Class 10 pass certificate and marksheet
  • Class 12 pass certificate and marksheet

  • Character Certificate
  • Caste Certificate, if applicable
  • Date of Birth Certificate
