Kerala B.Des Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) course in Kerala must meet the eligibility criteria given as under:

Entrance Exams

• For the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED), candidates must have qualified +2 in the science stream.

• For the National Institute of Design - Design Aptitude Test (NID-DAT), candidates from any stream will be considered eligible for the entrance examination.

Academic Qualification

• The candidate must have qualified 10+2 from an institute approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.

• The candidate must have obtained not less than 50% aggregate marks in 12th standard.

Kerala B.Des Application Process 2024

All the candidates seeking admission to the B.Des course must apply online through the official website of CEE, Kerala.

• Find the link “ “Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Course 2024 - Online Application” and click on it.

• Register yourself by entering your mobile number, and email ID and creating a password. This will generate a unique application number which will be displayed on the screen.

• Fill the application form. It is advised that candidates keep all the relevant documents handy while filling it in.

• Pay the online application through two payment methods- Online Payment or e-Challan.

• Upload signature and a photograph of the candidate along with other required documents and certificates.

• After uploading all the necessary documents/certificates, take a printout of the confirmation page.

Note- The application process for all the other institutes that conduct separate entrance exams at the institute level will have a different application process.

Kerala B.Des Selection Process 2024

B.Des admission or the selection of a B.Des aspirant in the state of Kerala shall be done through design entrance exams like UCEED, NID DAT (Mains) and NATA. The ranking for admission shall be based on marks secured in class 12 marks. Some institutes may also conduct a separate admission test for B.Des Admission which may be followed by a round personal interview.

Documents Required for B.Des Admission in Kerala

The list of documents that must be produced for Kerala B.Des Admission 2024 is given below:

• Digital copies of Photo and Signature

• Score Card of the entrance exam

• Qualifying Examination Mark Sheet (Class XII or equivalent)

• EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST Certificate (if applicable)

• PwD Certificate and OCI/PIO Card (if applicable)

Note: Candidates who are found to have submitted invalid/fake documents will not be permitted to seek admission. His/her admission shall be cancelled there and then.

Kerala B.Des Admission Reservation Policy 2024

B.Des colleges in Kerala must abide by the reservation policies of the Kerala government. The competent authorities will offer reservations to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ SEBC/ OEC candidates who satisfy the following conditions:

• The caste/community of the father will be considered to prove the candidate’s caste who is a child of an inter-caste married couple. He/she will be eligible for educational benefits eligible to SC/STs in the state of Kerala and must be allowed to receive all the educational benefits until the end of the B.Des course.

• While General category candidates will have to pay the application fee of Rs. 500, SC/ST candidates have to pay Rs. 200 only.

• The SC/ST candidates must have an original community certificate obtained from the Revenue officer who is not below the rank of Tahsildar.

• The SEBC/OEC candidates must obtain an original Non-Creamy layer certificate from the Village Officer concerned in the available proforma.
