LL. M Specialisations 2023
The different specialisations one can pursue in LL. M are described below:
Family Law : It is a law specialisation that includes the study of family law matters such as divorce, abuse, child custody, family violence, financial settlement of family possessions, etc.
Taxation Law : Tax Law is a law specialisation that includes the study of law in terms of taxes and the various regulations pertaining to taxes.
Constitutional Law : Constitutional law is the study of law that specialises in terms of constitutional norms and regulation, its adherence, and violation for companies, legal judiciaries, and legal consultancies.
Criminal Law: The course of Criminal Law course specialises in crime and justice including international crime, offences, causation, forensics, etc.
Human Rights : This law specialisation pertains to the adherence and violation of human rights at local, regional, national and international levels.
Environmental Law: Environmental Law is an LL. M specialisation pertains to the legal norms in terms of sustainable economic development.
Intellectual Property Law : The specialisation of Intellectual Property Law covers all the rights in terms of intellectual properties such as artistic works, phrases, words, designs, symbols, inventions, etc.
Insurance Law : This LL. M specialisation pertains to the adherence of insurance law which covers the terms and claims of any insurance.
Eligibility Criteria for LL. M Admissions 2023
Students who want to pursue LL. M must adhere to the following eligibility criteria for admission:
The student must have an undergraduate degree in LL. B, a professional law degree under 10+2+5 or any of the equivalent courses with an aggregate of 55% (50% for reserved categories and disabled).
Students of any age can apply for the exam as there are no age restrictions.
The admission of students and the mode of selection into LL. M vary in terms of different institutes and entrance tests. However, the students are given admissions on the basis of their screening of merit.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2023
It is a university-level exam conducted by the National Law University of Delhi for admissions into five years’ BA LL. B and 1 year-long LL. M program. The test is conducted for an overall duration of 90 minutes and every year, over 20,000 students apply for the exam.
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) PG 2023
CLAT is a national level LL. M entrance test which is conducted by the National Law University (NLU) Odisha , Cuttack. The exam is held in offline mode.
Law School Admission Test (LSAT India) 2023
LSAT is one of the most renowned entrance tests which is accepted by more than 76 law colleges in India. The test is conducted in offline mode and is administered by Pearson VUE on the behalf of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).
Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) 2023
IPU CET is another university level entrance exam for LL. M admissions which is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University . The exam is held offline and students can apply for the exam from the official site of Indraprastha University.

Delhi University LL. M Entrance Test (DU LL. M) 2023
DU LL. M is an entrance test for getting admissions into LL. M which is conducted by the University of Delhi . The test is conducted once a year and consists of a total of 100 MCQ questions to be completed within 120 minutes.

LL. M Admissions 2023
LL. M or Masters in Law is a post-graduate degree for any student who holds an undergraduate degree in law or its equivalent. It is a 2-year PG course that a student can pursue if he/she wants to pursue any specialisation in law. Admission into LL. M is generally done on the basis of entrance exams. The student must have an undergraduate degree in LL. B to get admission into LL. M.
LL. M Admission through AILET 2023
After the completion of the entrance test, a merit list will be released and the counselling of students will be done by the National Law University, Delhi . The qualified students will have to submit the admission/counselling fee to the NLU office before the deadline. After the first slot admission, NLU will conduct the AILET spot counselling round which will be the final admission round for the shortlisted candidates on the waitlist.
LL. M Admission through CLAT 2023
After the exam, the rank list for CLAT 2023 will be released and the seats will be allotted on the basis of the rank. Further counselling for the admission will be done through the centralised online counselling which is conducted by the CLAT authority. The students will have to pay an amount of Rs. 50,000 to participate in the counselling process . Finally, LL. M admissions will begin after the verification of student’s documents.
LL. M Admission through LSAT 2023
After the entrance test, the merit list will be released and the qualified students will have the chance to attend the counselling and opt for their preferred colleges. Students can choose their colleges from a list of more than 76 law colleges based on their personal preferences. Further, the documents of students will be verified and the final slot of admission will start.
LL. M Admission through IPU CET 2023
After the declaration of IPU CET 2023 results , the qualified students will be provided with the provisional allotment Letter. The students will then have to print the letter and appear for the counselling process. The counselling process for LL. M will be held in offline mode and the students will have to visit the specified location for their counselling. The students can then lock their seats in the college, get their documents verified and pay the admission fee.
LL. M Admission through DU LL. M 2023
The counselling session for DU LL. M will start in the first week of August after the result declaration, which will be conducted by the Faculty of Law, Delhi University. The counselling and the admission will be conducted as per the set schedule of the university in the offline mode. The students are required to bring all the documents as specified by the university to carry out the final round of the LL. M admission process.
