The NEET PG 2024 counselling round 2 publication of the CAP 2 seat matrix is December 18, 2024. Maharashtra NEET PG Medical Counselling 2024 - Eligibility Criteria

The Maharashtra PG Medical Counselling 2024 is conducted for candidates who will possess all the eligibility criteria as per the official authority guidelines. To be eligible for the counselling process of Maharashtra NEET PG 2024, students must the NEET PG exam with the required cutoff marks. Only Indian citizens can apply for the MH NEET PG Counselling 2024. The eligibility criteria for Maharashtra NEET PG Counselling 2024 are listed below.

  • Candidates must be citizens of India.

  • Candidates must have a valid Passport/12th School Leaving Certificate, or any other relevant certificate issued by the District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Chief Metropolitan Magistrate to substantiate the proof of nationality.

  • Non-residential Indians or NRIs are not eligible to apply for the Maharashtra NEET PG Counselling process. However, they may apply for the 15% AIQ seats in minority medical colleges and unaided private colleges.

  • Applicants who are residents of the state and have taken admission to MBBS colleges outside Maharashtra under the 15% AIQ, and have earned a degree from any other state university are also eligible to appear for Maharashtra PG Medical Counselling 2024. However, they will need to submit a certificate from the Dean of the respective state colleges and a certificate of Maharashtra by virtue of residence.

  • Applicants must have passed MBBS/BDS from a recognized institute in Maharashtra under the MCI or DCI.

  • Applicants must have completed their compulsory rotatory internship on or before July 31, 2024.

  • Candidates must be medically fit.

Admissions to the different PG medical courses such as MD, MS , and PG diploma courses will be based on the NEET PG 2024 scores obtained by the aspirants. However, the counselling process is being conducted at the All India and State levels separately. Maharastra NEET PG Medical Counselling Process 2024

There are several stages in Maharastra NEET PG medical counselling 2024 starting from registration to reporting at the allocated institute. Students can find the details about the stages stated below.

Stage 1: Online Registration and Application Process

  • At this stage, the students willing to participate will have to register themselves on the official website by filling NEET PG medical counselling registration form.
  • Students must read the instructions carefully and fill out the application form with all the required details.
  • Students can make changes in the counselling application form in the application editing dates based on which their application will be considered by the exam authorities.
  • Students must pay the application fee for counselling registration of Rs. 3000 to secure their seats for further counselling rounds while saving a copy of the receipt for future reference.
  • The last step in registration is to upload all the documents like mark sheets and certificates online for verification rounds later.

Stage 2: NEET PG Medical Common State Merit List Release

  • The Maharastra CET cell authorities will announce the common state merit list on the official website.
  • The merit list will be prepared based on the NEET PG 2024 results and selected students will have to appear for the counselling process.

Stage 3: Online Filling of Choices

  • In this stage, students will have to fill their choices of universities with specific deadlines.
  • Once, students fill in their choices then the authorities will give them the available choices during the institute reporting round to choose as their medical college.
  • Students must choose their medical college and get admission within the deadlines.

Stage 4: CAP Selection Process

  • In this round, the selection of the college is based on the choices filled by the students and the rank obtained in the state merit list.
  • Students get an option to choose or retain seats and appear in the next rounds until they get their preferred choices.
  • Students must choose seats or retain seats within the deadlines and then report at the allocated institute.

Stage 5: Reporting at the Allocated Institute

  • Students must report at the allocated institute and pay the admission fees mentioned previously in their official brochure.
  • After the exam authorities confirm their payment, students will get their seats in their preferred college.

What do I do if I am not satisfied with my allocated college or course?


Candidates who are unsatisfied with their allocated college or course are required to write an application to the respective authorities, following which, they will later on be brought under the waiting list category and will be eligible for vacant seats after the completion of all counselling rounds.

What happens in the mop-up round of the Counselling?


Candidates who were unable to get a seat in either of the previous rounds of Counselling can get another opportunity through the Mop-up round. They will have to grab any vacant seat available under the PG Medical colleges of the country.
