Meghalaya MBBS Admissions 2023

Meghalaya MBBS Admissions 2024 is conducted by the North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS). The NEIGRIHMS is responsible for conducting admissions for Meghalaya MBBS admission 2024 under 85% state merit quota, whereas the MCC or Medical Counselling Committee conducts the admissions for 15% seats under All-India Quota. Moreover, admission to Meghalaya MBBS 2024 is primarily based on the NEET UG 2024 Exam qualifications, which is scheduled to be held on May 5, 2024.

The Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2024 counselling process is likely to begin soon after the NEET UG 2024 Result UG 2024 Result is published by June 14, 2024. All candidates who qualify the NEET entrance exam with the required cutoff for Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2024 will be deemed eligible for the registration process. Meghalaya MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2024

Domicile Rules: Candidates applying for Meghalaya MBBS admissions 2024 must be permanent residents of Meghalaya, and must have completed their 10+2 or its equivalent from the schools located in the region. In cases where the candidate’s parents belong from Meghalaya and the candidate has studied in another state in India, he/she will be also considered for admission, provided the parents are permanent residents of Meghalaya.

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for Meghalaya MBBS admissions 2024 must keep in mind that NEET UG 2024 exam qualification is mandatory for the same. Thus, all candidates are required to secure the minimum qualifying score in NEET UG, as prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Candidates must also secure at least 50% (40% for reserved categories) marks in their 10+2, with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as the major subjects, in order to be eligible for Meghalaya MBBS admission 2024.

Age Limit: Candidates applying for Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2024 must satisfy the age criteria which is 17 years of age as on December 31, 2024, and 25 years of age as on May 5, 2024.

Meghalaya MBBS Application Process 2024

Step I: Candidates who are eligible for the admission to MBBS course in Meghalaya as per the above-mentioned eligibility criteria must visit the official website of NEIGRIHMS to complete the online registration. Check the ‘Important News’ section on the homepage of the official website. The link for the online application for MBBS course 2024 will be available under the important news section. Click on the link to proceed further.

Step II: Click on the login or Register link. The registration form will open, and the applicants will have to enter all the necessary details like Registered Mobile Number, E-Mail etc. The login credentials will be sent to the mobile number/ e-mail.

Step III: Now, the candidates must log in to fill the online application form. Fill all the personal and academic details carefully. NEET-UG roll number is mandatory to enter in the application form. After filling all the details in the MBBS application form, upload the following documents: -

  • Passport Size Photograph (scanned copy not less than 80KB)

  • Scanned image of candidate’s signature

  • Domicile Certificate/ Residence Certificate/ Permanent Residence Certificate

  • Class 10 & Class 12 Certificate/ Mark Sheet

  • NEET-UG 2024 Score Card

  • NEET-UG 2024 Admit Card

Step IV: After uploading the above-mentioned documents, pay the Counselling Processing Fee of Rs. 500. The counselling fee for the MBBS course can be paid in online mode, i.e., by using a credit card or debit card.

Step V: After the successful completion of all the above-mentioned steps, take the printout of the application form.

Meghalaya MBBS Selection Process 2024

NEIGRIHMS releases a list of selected candidates for seat allocation which comprises the names of the candidates who have been shortlisted for Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2024. The above-mentioned selection list also highlights the name of the institutions allotted to the candidates for admission. It is important to note that this selection process for Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2024 is purely based on NEET-UG merit and the individual academic record of the candidates.

NEIGRIHMS decides the number of counselling rounds to be conducted for Meghalaya MBBS Admission 2024. Interestingly, if some of the seats for MBBS admission after the first round remain vacant, NEIGRIHMS will proceed with the second round of counselling process to fill the vacant seats in the MBBS course. There are only eighteen available seats under the NEET Open Category for Meghalaya MBBS admission 2024.

Meghalaya MBBS Merit List 2024

The NEIGRIHMS is responsible for preparing the Meghalaya MBBS Merit List 2024 based on the marks secured by the candidates in the NEET-UG 2024 exam. Candidates securing the highest marks in NEET-UG 2024 from Meghalaya will be placed on the top of the merit list. Candidates can check their NEET-UG marks, roll number, and category on the merit list. Only those candidates who feature in the merit list and have submitted the online application form are eligible for Meghalaya MBBS admission 2024 counselling. Meghalaya MBBS Counselling Process 2024

Step I: As per the merit list, candidates must attend the counselling process at NEIGRIHMS. The institute will primarily conduct a medical examination. Candidates who clear the medical test can proceed to the next step.

Step II: Verification of documents will take place in the second stage. The authorities will verify and crosscheck the details of the candidates. Admission will not be finalized unless the candidates produce all the original documents.

Step III: The admission authority will notify the candidates if admission is confirmed. The selected candidates must pay the course fee prescribed by NEIGRIHMS to confirm admission. The candidates will be given at least a couple of days to pay for the course and report to the college.

If any seats are vacant after the first round of counselling, the admission authority will conduct second round of counselling for the MBBS course.
