National Law Exams of India Eligibility Criteria

The first step that has to be taken by a candidate before applying for an entrance exam is to check the eligibility criteria for the same. Candidates who fail in meeting the eligibility criteria of the particular law entrance exam will not be considered for admission despite having successfully completed the application process. Therefore, it is mandatory for all law aspirants to check the eligibility criteria of national law entrance exams before proceeding with the application process. For Admission to Undergraduate Law Courses:

• In order to be eligible for UG law courses offered in India, the student has to complete his/ her education up to class 12th.
• The school from which the candidate clears his/ her higher secondary education must be affiliated to a recognised board of education like the CBSE, the ISC, or any state board.
• Candidates have to receive passing marks in all the subjects that they have at the 10 + 2 level.
• Additionally, the aggregate marks scored by the candidates in class 12th board examinations should not be less than 45 per cent to 50 per cent.

For Admission to Postgraduate Law Courses:

• Candidates seeking admission to a PG law course have to complete their education up to the graduation level.
• They must have an undergraduate degree in law. It can be an integrated law course or an LLB degree that is done after a graduation course.
• The university under which candidates obtain their bachelor degree must be recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
• The aspirant must have passed in all the subjects of graduation and his/ her aggregate score in the undergraduate degree should be at least 45 per cent to 50 per cent.
