NEET 2025 Information Bulletin has been released by the NTA on February 7, 2025. The NEET 2025 Information Bulletin contains all the information about the exam structure, exam date and time schedule, and other important instructions and guidelines to follow.
NEET Information Bulletin 2025

NEET 2025 Information Bulletin was published on the official website of NEET 2025 Exam portal by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on February 7, 2025. The NEET 2025 Information Bulletin comprises all the important details about the NEET 2025 Exam , including the exam structure, important dates, exam schedule, exam pattern, marking scheme, registration process, counselling procedure, and important instructions and guidelines to follow throughout the course of NEET exam. According to the NEET 2025 Information Bulletin, the NTA has introduced some changes to the NEET exam this year, including the exam pattern, tie-breaking policy, exam duration, among others. The Section B of the NEET Question Paper with optional questions has been removed, and all questions in NEET 2025 Exam are now mandatory to be answered. Similarly, the total exam duration of the NEET Exam has been reduced from 3 hours and 20 minutes to just 3 hours overall. The NTA has revised the NEET 2025 tie-breaking policy with a new “seven-point method” to make the process easier.

According to the official schedule released by the NTA, the NEET 2025 Exam will be conducted on May 4, 2025. The NEET 2025 Registration is ongoing from February 7 to March 7, 2025. NEET 2025 Information Bulletin: New Changes

The NTA has introduced a number of new changes to the NEET 2025 Exam curriculum as per the NEET 2025 Information Bulletin. The detailed list of the NEET 2025 Information Bulletin new changes has been mentioned below for all interested students to refer to:
  • Revised NEET 2025 Tie - Breaking Policy : The NTA has revised the NEET 2025 Tie-Breaking Policy to a “seven-point method” wherein students will be first scrutinized based on their performance in the NEET Biology section, followed by the highest marks in Chemistry and then Physics to break the tie. In case the tie still persists, students will be examined based on the lesser number of attempted incorrect and correct answers in all the subjects, followed by the same in individual subjects in the order of Biology, Chemistry and then Physics. In case all the seven criteria are exhausted and the tie still persists, the NTA will resolve the tie through a random process conducted by an independent expert committee.
  • AAPAR and AADHAR authentication: NTA recommended AAPAR and AADHAR authentication in 2025 for a seamless registration, admission and verification process. However, to clarify, it is not mandatory.

  • Updated Official Website : The NEET UG official website is now neet.nta.nic.in. Earlier it was neet.ntaonline.in. All the updated information of 2025 including notifications, syllabus, FAQs, and details on eligibility, NEET Application Form 2025 , and exam pattern will be made available on the new website.

  • Removal of Optional Questions: There will be a total of 180 compulsory questions. 45 questions each in Physics, 45 questions in Chemistry and 90 in Biology.

  • Exam Duration: Previously the NEET 2025 exam was conducted online for 200 minutes in the NEET exam centres. NTA has reduced the exam time of 200 minutes to 180 minutes which means students will not get an extra time of 20 minutes to finish the paper.

  • Changes in the Mode of Exam: Earlier due to a security breach the exam was expected to be conducted in online mode in 2 shifts. However, NTA confirmed, the NEET UG 2025 entrance exam will be held in offline mode in a single shift.

  • Decreased Exam Centres: NEET 2025 exam centres are reduced for this year's exam. Previously, the NEET 2025 exam centres count all across the country was 557 cities but now it is reduced to 552 cities.
  • Choice of Number of Exam Centres: Previously, students had to choose 2 exam centres for appearing in the NEET 2025 exam. But, as per the NTA guidelines now, students can select up to three exam centres to appear for the NEET 2025 examination.
  • Unchanged NEET Exam Fees : The exam fees for the NEET exam 2025 remain unchanged for every category. General category students will have to pay Rs. 1700 as examination fees, General-EWS/OBC-NCL category has to be Rs. 1600 respectively. On the other hand, SC/ST/PwD students will have to pay exam fees of Rs. 1000 and international examinees will have to pay an exam fee of Rs. 9500 respectively.

  • Expanded Eligibility : Till 2023 only aspirants who have cleared class 12th or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English were eligible for the NEET exam, however, from 2024 onwards students with PCM were also eligible to sit for the NEET UG exam without studying Biology/Biotechnology subjects. The same has continue in 2025.

  • Unchanged Syllabus : A few topics were removed from the NTA NEET Syllabus PDF of 2024. There are no major changes done by the NTA in the NEET syllabus. Only some advanced topics are removed from the NEET syllabus 2025.

NEET UG 2025 Information Bulletin: Eligibility Criteria

According to the NEET UG 2025 Information Bulletin, to be eligible for the NEET 2025 Exam all students must have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board with Science background and at least 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam. Only the students who have Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core subjects in their 10+2 will be deemed eligible to participate in the NEET registration process. Moreover, all students should meet the age criteria, nationality criteria, and other requirements as mentioned in the NEET UG 2025 Information Bulletin to appear for the upcoming NEET Exam. Mentioned below are the detailed NEET 2025 eligibility criteria for reference to all students:

1. Lower Age Limit : Students must be at least 17 years old when they apply or will turn 17 on or before December 31 of the year they are applying for the undergraduate medical course. Here's the breakdown:
- For General (UR)/General-EWS candidates: born on or before December 31, 2007
- For SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD Category candidates: no specific age limit mentioned

2. Upper Age Limit : There's no upper age limit for appearing in NEET (UG) as per the latest information received from the National Medical Commission.

3. Qualify NEET UG : Whether an applicant is an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) planning to study medicine abroad, they still need to clear NEET (UG) to be eligible for admission.

NEET Information Bulletin: Eligibility Criteria of OCI Card Holders

The NEET 2025 eligibility criteria for OCI card holders are slightly different from general applicants. Students can find the detailed eligibility criteria for OCI card holders to appear in the NEET 2025 exam stated below.
  1. OCI Cardholders Are Eligible to Participate in NEET UG 2025 : People who are Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin, and Foreign Nationals can apply for admission to Medical / Dental/ Ayurveda/ Siddha/ Unani/ Homeopathy Colleges. However, their eligibility depends on the rules and regulations set by the respective State Governments, Institutions, and the Government of India.
  2. OCI Cardholders Have Equal Rights as other NEET UG Applicants : Following the order from the Honorable Supreme Court, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) will have access to the same rights and privileges as others.

NEET Information Bulletin 2025: Application Process

The online NEET 2025 application process has commenced. It will be held from February 7 to March 7, 2025. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the NEET 2025 information bulletin can fill out the NEET Application Form 2025. The application process comprises these three primary steps:

  • Candidate Registration: Prospective candidates must visit the official website, register for the NEET 2025 online application and keep note of the system-generated application number. During this phase, candidates must provide the requisite details as requested in the NEET 2025 application form. They also need to create a password and select a security question. Upon successful submission of personal details, candidates will receive an application number, which is essential for completing subsequent steps of the NEET 2025 registration.

  • Completion of NEET 2025 Application Form: Following successful registration, candidates must log in using the assigned application number and the password they created. Upon logging in, candidates are required to fill out the NEET Application Form 2025. They must also upload the Documents Required for the NEET 2025 Application Form , including photographs and signatures.

  • Payment of Examination Fee: Upon completing the registration and filling out the application form for NEET 2025, applicants must proceed to pay the prescribed examination fee. NEET 2025 Application Fee and Payment Methods include Credit/Debit Card, UPI and Net Banking. The confirmation page for the NEET 2025 application form will be generated only after the successful submission of the examination fee.

Important pointers regarding the NEET Marking Scheme

There are some important pointers regarding the NEET 20235 marking scheme that students must keep in mind. The NEET 2025 marking scheme will be applicable on per per-question basis and some important pointers regarding the NEET 2025 exam are stated below.
  • Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Four marks (+4)

  • Any incorrect option marked: Minus one mark (-1)

  • Unanswered question: No mark (0)

  • If more than one option is found to be correct: Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.

  • If all options are found to be correct: Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

  • If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or dropped: Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all candidates.

NEET 2025 Information Bulletin: Syllabus

NEET 2025 syllabus consist of subjects like physics, chemistry and biology topics from the NCERT books of class 11 and 12 respectively. Students can find the important pointers regarding the NEET 2025 syllabus mentioned in the NTA NEET information bulletin stated below.

  1. Reduction in Syllabus: The NEET 2024 syllabus was reduced, with the number of chapters decreased from 97 to 79. The same is being continued in 2025. This reduction involves the deletion of many topics, along with additions and modifications in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects.

  2. Collaboration and Inputs: The new syllabus of NEET 2025 has been formulated through collaboration with multiple boards and inputs from the National Medical Commission (NMC).

    • Physics: The NEET Physics Syllabus 2025 PDF remains extensive, however, topics like Rolling Motion, Reynold’s Number, Forced and Damped Oscillation, Heat Engine & Refrigerator, Van de Graaff Generator, Doppler Effect, Colour Coding of Resistors, Cyclotron, Potentiometer, Davison-Germer Experiment, Alpha, Beta, Gamma Decay and Transistor have been deleted from NEET Syllabus 2025 Physics.
    • Chemistry: P-Block Elements and Experimental-based Chemistry have been added to the NEET Chemistry Syllabus 2025 PDF which was originally removed from the NCERT Chemistry syllabus.
    • Biology: Taxonomic Aid, Angiosperm, Transport in Plants except Xylem and Phloem, Secondary Growth, Mineral Nutrition, Sense Organs, Vernalization and Seed Dormancy, Digestion and Absorption, Reproduction in Organisms, Succession, Strategies for Enhancement in Food Production and Environmental Issues have been excluded from NEET Biology Syllabus 2025 PDF .

  • Students with a lower ratio of incorrectly attempted answers to correctly attempted answers specifically in Physics in the examination.

  • In case, all the criteria are exhausted and the tie persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the direction of an independent expert
