NIFT 2024 Important Topics for Preparation

For NIFT 2024 preparation, students need to have a workable exam approach and be familiar with the crucial subjects. The Situation Test, General Ability Test, and Creativity Ability Test make up the three portions of the NIFT. Candidates for admission to the BDes programme must take the CAT and GAT exams, followed by a scenario test. However, BFTech students must take the GAT and situational judgement assessments. CAT and GAT are the written exams of NIFT that are conducted on the same day. After a student has qualified for the written exams, a situation-based test is conducted. A student needs to be aware of the important topics for the NIFT exam to qualify for both, written and situation-based exams. Mentioned below are the crucial topics that need to be covered to do well in all the NIFT exam sections.

NIFT CAT (Creative Ability Test) Important Topics

The CAT section of the NIFT Entrance Exam deals with innovation and creativity. Students are judged on their use of colours and imaginative skills. They are expected to draw creatively and are measured on the parameters of observation power, designing ability, creativity in thought development and discernment ability. Students are required to go through the important topics mentioned below for the NIFT-CAT entrance exam.

Situation-Based Test Important Topics

Once a candidate has passed both the CAT and GAT written exams, a practical test is given to the candidate in the nearby NIFT examination centres. The test is of 2 hours and is conducted practically. Students are provided with a situation-based question and they are provided with materials to answer that. The candidate has to build a 3D model with the materials provided and later on, they also have to write an explanation of that model.

Students who want to make a career in design need to have brilliant creativity to crack the entrance exam of NIFT. They ought to go through newspapers, magazines, social media, and previous year's question papers to stay updated. Also, they need to practice all the aforementioned important topics for the NIFT entrance exam. The weightage of each section is different in the entrance exam of NIFT. CAT and GAT have 50% and 30% weightage each. The NIFT situation test has 20% weightage. Only after qualifying for the written examination can a candidate appear for the situation-based test.
