The National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) has declared that it will conduct separate National Law Aptitude Test (NLAT 2020) to shortlist students for the academic session 2020-2021. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the unforeseen difficulties to conduct CLAT 2020 amid the wild spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the nation. NLAT 2020 will be conducted in three shifts and a procedure of normalisation will be followed to score the test takers.
The online application process of NLAT 2020 has commenced from September 3, 2020, and is likely to wrap up on September 10, 2020. Candidates willing to pursue Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law (BA + LLB) or Master of Law (LLM) from NLSIU, Bangalore can register themselves for the exam. There will be no offline submission of documents or application form. Steps to Fill NLAT Application Form 2020
Aspirants can participate in the NLAT application process 2020 only till the midnight of September 10, 2020. It is crucial to complete and submit the application form beforehand, as once the deadline has passed, no requests would be entertained. Provided below is the step by step guide to register for NLAT 2020.
Visit the official website of NLSIU, Bangalore.
Click on ‘Register’.
Enter your name, programme and mobile number.
Set a unique password and click on ‘Register’.
After registering successfully, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.
Validate the mobile number by entering the OTP.
Log in using the mobile number and password provided at the time of registration.
Fill all the personal and academic details carefully as it would later be displayed on the Certificates, Mark sheets and Identity proofs.
Upload the scanned documents mentioned below in a clear manner.
Click on Save and Submit the form.
After entering the details and uploading the documents, sign the declaration
and submit the application.
After the successful completion, make the payment. Registration will be considered complete only after the university has received the payment.

Candidates must make sure that the scanned copy of the documents is complete and clearly visible. The application of an individual will be rejected by the NLSIU Bangalore if the uploaded documents are incomplete, unclear, or illegible. All documents will be physically verified at the time of admission.
If the aspirants are unable to produce the domicile, caste, tribe, disability or the last qualification certificate at the time of registration, they must make sure to provide it to NLSIU authorities at the time of admission. If they are unable to do so, the candidature of the applicant would be considered invalid.

Eligibility Criteria to Fill NLAT Application Form 2020
Candidates must ensure that they satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria before filling the application form of NLAT 2020 as, without it, the registration would be cancelled. Given below is the course-wise eligibility criteria for NLAT 2020.
BA LLB
The NLAT eligibility criteria 2020 for the BA LLB course is specified below.
The candidate must have passed unconditionally in class 12th or equivalent examination.
The minimum aggregate score required for General Category and PwD category students is either 45% or its equivalent grade.
SC/ST candidates are awarded 5% relaxation. They can apply with a minimum aggregate of 40% or its equivalent grade.
Age is no bar to apply for NLAT 2020
LLM
The LLM eligibility criteria for NLAT is defined below
Aspirants must have completed an LLB or its equivalent degree from a recognized university or institution.
Minimum aggregate of marks required in the qualifying examination is 50% or its equivalent grade for the General and PwD Category.
SC/ST category candidates get a relaxation of 5% as they can apply for NLAT 2020 with an aggregate of at least 45% or its equivalent grade.
Candidates who have submitted a valid registration form are eligible to appear for NLAT on September 12, 2020. Aspirants will have to appear for NLAT exam online, using a computer device at their respective locations. Shortlisted students will be intimated regarding their provisional admission via email/SMS. The admission through NLAT will be confirmed only after paying the requisite fees and producing the necessary documents.
NLSIU, Bangalore is conducting NLAT 2020 in order to avoid a year with no admissions. CLAT has been postponed multiple times due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the National Law School of India University, Bangalore has decided to introduce NLAT to do away with a ‘Zero Year.’
